How do the ingredients of the drug work?

The drug consists of a combination of active ingredients. It contains lidocaine, which acts as a local anesthetic. The substance prevents the nerves from transmitting stimuli and thus makes you insensitive to pain and suppresses itching. It also contains anti-inflammatory substances such as chamomile and sage.

What age group do you need to consider?
- Newborns in the first 4 weeks of life: The drug should be used with particular caution.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: According to current knowledge, the drug should not be used.
- Breast-feeding: According to current knowledge, it is not recommended to use it. You may be to consider a weaning.

If you have been prescribed the drug despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk that the use entails in the event of a contraindication.

Only side effects that have only occurred in exceptional cases so far are described for the drug.

What should you consider?
- Be careful with allergies to local anesthetics (local anesthetics such as articaine, bupivacaine, lidocaine, mepivacaine, prilocaine, ropivacaine)!
- Be careful if you are allergic to spices such as anise, mugwort, dill, fennel, carrot, coriander, cumin, paprika, parsley, celery and tomato!
- Be careful with allergies to daisy family (Latin name = composites), e.g. arnica, marigold, yarrow, coneflower and chamomile!

Field of use

• The drug is a gel used to treat diseases of the oral cavity.
• It is used for the temporary supportive treatment of inflammation and wounds in the oral mucosa and gums.

Contraindications

• The drug must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to lidocaine, sage leaves, chamomile flowers, other daisy flowers, mint oil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

• Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, dentist or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor, dentist or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Apply a pea-sized amount of gel three to four times a day (this corresponds to approx. 140 mg of gel).
  • There is no data for deviating dosage recommendations in the case of impaired liver or kidney function.

• Duration of use
  • Use the medicine until the inflammation improves or the wound heals, or as recommended by your doctor or dentist.
  • However, if the clinical picture worsens or there is still no improvement after 5 - 7 days, please consult a doctor or dentist.

• Use in children and adolescents
  • The dosage corresponds to that of adults.
  • However, for newborns, infants and young children, take extra care not to use a pea-sized amount of mouth gel more than four times a day.

• If you use more than you should
  • If you use too much or if you accidentally swallow it, you may also experience side effects other than those mentioned in the side effects category. In this case, contact your doctor, dentist or pharmacist.

• If you forgot the application
  • Do not apply twice if you forget the previous application.

• If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, dentist or pharmacist.

• Type of application
  • In the medical or dental practice, the wound area is treated and a correspondingly large amount of gel is applied.
  • When used at home, the gel is applied to the painful or inflamed area with the cleaned fingertip or introduced into the gum pockets and massaged in thoroughly. Please rinse your mouth out with water beforehand.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Talk to your doctor, dentist or pharmacist before using this medicine,
    • if you suffer from a severe disturbance of the stimulus formation and conduction system of the heart
    • in acute cardiac output failure
    • if you have severe kidney or liver disease
  • If the drug is used for a longer period of time, you should see a doctor or dentist.
  • After using the preparation, only small amounts of the active ingredient lidocaine are absorbed into the organism. Nevertheless, general effects in the case of severely damaged oral mucosa cannot be completely ruled out.
  • Children
    • If the infection is widespread, or accompanied by a fever or severe illness (and bad breath), or if your child does not want to drink or eat, you should see a doctor.

• Ability to drive and use machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor, dentist or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
• Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. The use of this medicine is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
