Frontline® is a veterinary medicinal product for the prevention, Treatment and reliable control of Ticks, fleas and biting lice in dogs and cats. Frontline® can also be used for treatment of flea bite allergy.

Good reasons for FRONTLINE®

Ticks and fleas can cause skin diseases such as allergies and transmit pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases. Not only are our pets at risk, we as humans are also at risk when parasites are introduced into our homes.

Frontline® is the best-known flea and tick repellent2 and has reliably protected our four-legged friends from fleas and ticks for years. Many satisfied users speak for the success of the product. Frontline® has a highly selective effect on the parasite and is not critical for dogs and humans when used correctly.

Application recommendation

Frontline® should be used regularly, because there is only complete protection if there is a sufficient supply of the active ingredient. Efficacy against adult fleas remains 8 weeks, against ticks up to 4 weeks.

Spot on principle – easy to apply in 3 steps:

1. Take the pipette out of the blister and snap off the tip of the pipette at the point provided.

2. Part the fur of the animal in the neck region in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.

3. Place the pipette tip directly on the skin and empty the contents completely.

How does Frontline® work?

After application, the active ingredient spreads over the upper layers of the animal's skin within 1-2 days. The active ingredient is stored in the sebum glands and continuously released with the sebum into the dog's coat and skin. For optimal distribution, animals should not be bathed for 48 hours before and after treatment. Parasites absorb the active substance through the shell when they come into contact with fur and skin and are thus killed. Frontline® Spot on can be used on dogs weighing 2 kg or more, regardless of the age of the animal, including pregnant or lactating bitches. Physical contact with the treated animal is after drying dhe place of order without hesitation.

Questions & Answers

Why do I still see ticks after the treatment?
Frontline® kills over 90% of ticks within 48 hours. Due to the active principle, however, it is possible that live ticks that have newly infested the animal are temporarily visible on the animal. However, they will be killed once sufficient drug has penetrated through the shell and can then be easily removed.

Why do I still see fleas after treatment?
Frontline® kills over 95% of fleas within 24 hours. As soon as fleas are discovered on the animal, the eggs, larvae and pupae have usually already spread to the surrounding area. Because the adult fleas on the animal only make up about 5% of the flea infestation. New fleas can always develop from the flea brood, so the entire flea cycle must be broken in order to get rid of the plague again. This is only the case when there are no more offspring, which can sometimes take several months. Flea spawn can infest the entire home environment. It is therefore recommended as a supplementary measure to mechanically clean the environment by vacuuming and washing the infested textiles every day and to wash the flea brood through suitable insecticides (e.g. from Frontline PetCare) to kill.

Do I brush Frontline® out of the coat when I comb the animal?
With routine grooming, an impairment of the effectiveness of Frontline® is not to be expected.

What happens if my dog licks the Frontline® solution?
By applying the solution to the skin between the shoulder blades, the risk is low as this area is difficult for the animal to reach. If it does happen, there may be a temporary increase in salivation, which is mainly caused by an unpleasant taste of the carriers.

What if I get my hands on the Frontline® solution?
Wash your hands with soap, being careful not to rub the solution into your mucous membranes. Then contact your GP and the manufacturer of Frontline® and report the accidental exposure. Company contact information You can find Boehringer Ingelheim at www. vetmedica.de.

How long do I have to wait after the treatment before I can return my animal petting?
As with any drug applied to the skin, as a precautionary measure it is recommended that children or adults do not pet the treated animal until the application site has dried. It is best to treat the animals in the early evening hours so that the area can dry overnight. After drying, the contact is harmless.

Does Frontline® also help against mites?
Frontline® is approved to kill fleas, ticks and biting lice. Use to combat other parasites may only take place on the advice of the treating veterinarian and under veterinary supervision. Since most mites that can infest our four-legged friends are not visible to the naked eye, a veterinary examination is also required to find out which mite species it is.

What are hair lice?
Biting lice are wingless insects that can infest our pets. Different to Lice do not suck blood, but feed on skin flakes or wound secretions. Frontline® reliably kills dog biting lice.

How do I protect my puppy from fleas and ticks?
Puppies can also be infested with parasites. Especially fleas can cause trouble for the little ones and even trigger anemia in the event of a massive infestation. Frontline® Spray can be used on puppies from the first day of life. It reliably kills fleas and can be precisely adjusted to the puppy's weight.

Can Frontline® Spot On be used on other animals?
Frontline® is approved for use in dogs and cats.

we have been using the product on our dachshund for years. A robust dog tolerates the product well. At the same time, we are currently trying an additional food containing garlic from Rinti Chicko. Maybe the Frontline dose can be reduced with this..

these tablets against fleas are highly recommended. I give them to my dogs in addition to spot on, because then they get rid of them more quickly. Capstar can even be given daily for stubborn flea infestations. My dogs, I have three, tolerate them well. However, Capstar kills them It only removes fleas by sucking and has no preventative effect, which is why you should only use it in conjunction with a spot on, because then you have an effect over a longer period of time. I haven't noticed any side effects and I've already given Capstar to my friends their dogs.
