Field of use
Biotin Beta 5 tablets (pack size: 60 pieces) is a vitamin preparation and is used for:
- to prevent biotin deficiency
- to treat a biotin deficiency
- for the treatment of a biotin deficiency in the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency
Mode of action
Biotin is involved in many metabolic processes such as carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism and contributes to cell growth. It activates the metabolism and promotes the regeneration of hair roots and the nail bed.

Biotin Beta 5 tablets (pack size: 60 pieces) contains:

biotin
1 tablet contains 5 mg biotin.
Other ingredients:
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, povidone K 30, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.)
Contraindications
Biotin Beta 5 tablets (pack size: 60 pieces) must not be taken,
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to biotin or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
dosage
Recommended use of Biotin Beta 5 tablets (pack size: 60 pieces) Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- To prevent and treat a biotin deficiency:
- 1 - 2 Tablets (equivalent to 5 - 10 mg biotin) daily.
- Less than 0.2 mg biotin per day is sufficient for prophylaxis.
- For lower doses, preparations with a lower biotin content are available.
- For therapy of multiple carboxylase deficiency:
- 1 - 2 Tablets (equivalent to 5 - 10 mg biotin) daily.
- Duration of use
- The preparation is taken until the biotin levels in the blood have normalized.
- The duration depends on the course of the underlying disease. Please ask your doctor about this.
- In the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency, it is taken for life.
