Composition
Lophakomp® (3000 µg)
1 Ampoule with 2 ml injection solution contains:
3000 µg cyanocobalamine
Other components: sodium chloride, water for injection purposes

Cyanocobalamine and hydroxocobalam nacetate belong to the group of fabrics, which are summarized as “vitamin B12”. Hydroxocobalamincletes, represents a physiological custody form of the vitamin B12. Both Lophakomp®-B12 injection solutions are free of preservatives.

Application areas
Vitamin B12 deficiency, which cannot be remedied in terms of nutrition. Vitamin B12 deficiency can comment in the following clinical pictures:

Hyperchrom macrocytic megaloblast anemia (Perniciosa, Biermer-Anemia, Addison-Anemia)
Funicular spinal disease

A laboratory diagnostically secured vitamin B12 deficiency can occur with:

Years of deficiency and malnutrition (e.g. through strictly vegetarian food)
Malabsorption
insufficient production of intrinsic factor
Diseases in the end section of the ileum, e.g. Sprue,
Fish bandwurmfall or
Blind loop syndrome
Congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders

Contraindications LOPAKOP®-B12-DEPOT (1000 µg) must not be used if a component is intolerated.

What must be observed during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
The recommended daily vitamin B12 intake in pregnancy and breastfeeding is 4 µg. According to the previous experience, higher application quantities have no adverse effects on the unborn child. Vitamin B12 is excreted in breast milk.

Side effects
In individual cases, acne, eczematous and urtialarial drug reactions as well as anaphylactic or anaphylactoid reactions were observed. No interactions are known so far.

Instruction of dosage and kind of usage
LOPAKOMP®-B12 (3000 µg):
1 ml twice a week (corresponding to 3000 µg cyanocobalamine).

LOPAKOMP®-B12 (3000 µg) and Lophakomp®-B12 depot (1000 µg) are usually administered intramuscularly. However, they can also be slowly being given intravenously or subcutaneously. With good tolerance, the duration of the application is not limited. In the case of proven vitamin B12 recording disorder in the intestine, vitamin B12 is usually substituted for life.
