Causes of athlete's foot.
The main cause of foot fungus is the thread fungus trichophyton rubrum. Feet and toenails are mostly affected, although other skin areas are not excluded from the infestation. In rare cases, yeast mushrooms or molds can also lead to a fungal of foot. The fungus increases on the skin and feeds on it.
Risk of infection by athlete's foot.
Skin and nail fungus are contagious diseases and are transmitted both by contact with infected people and by touching infected objects. There is a risk of infection, especially in areas that are entered barefoot. Especially in public swimming pools and saunas, in changing rooms, but also on carpet floors from hotel rooms there is a great risk of infection.
