Vitamin B6 Hevert tablets

Application areas:
Treatment of peripheral neuropathy as a result of vitamin B6 deficiency caused by drug intake.
Treatment of pyridoxin -dependent metabolic disorders (e.g. homocystinuria).
Vitamin B6 deficiency caused cramps in newborns and infants.

Field of use

  • Adults:
    • Treatment of peripheral neuropathy (nerve inflammation) as a result of a vitamin B6 deficiency caused by drug intake (for example by medicines with active ingredients such as Isoniazid, D-Penicillamin, cycloser).
    • Treatment of pyridoxin-dependent disorders (rare metabolic disorders such as about primary hyperoxaluria type I, homocystinuria, cysthioninuria, xanthurenic aciduria or rare blood formation disorders such as sideroblastic anemia, vitamin B6 deficiency caused hypochrome microocytic anemia, some of which can be treated by increased vitamin B6 gift).
  • Children:
    • Treatment of peripheral neuropathy (nerve inflammation) as a result of a vitamin B6 deficiency caused by drug intake (e.g. by medicines with active ingredients such as Isoniazid, D-Penicillamin, Cycloserin).

      • The dosage must be specified individually by the treating doctor. As a rule, 10 mg to 250 mg are recommended in individual cases up to 600 mg and more pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) per day. (1 tablet contains 100 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride.)
    • Treatment of pyridoxin -dependent disorders (sideroblastic anemia):
      • The dosage must be specified individually by the treating doctor. As a rule, doses from 200 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride (vitamin B6) are recommended per day. (1 tablet contains 100 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride.)
  • Children:
    • Treatment of peripheral neuropathy as a result of vitamin B6 deficiency caused by drug intake:
      • The dosage must be specified individually by the treating doctor. As a rule, 50 mg to 200 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride (vitamin B6) are recommended per day. (1 tablet contains 100 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride.)
    • Conservation therapy after vitamin B6 deficiency caused by cramps in newborns and infants:
      • The dosage must be specified individually by the treating doctor. As a rule, doses from 2 mg to 200 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride (vitamin B6) are recommended per day. The need increasesg from age and any other diseases. (1 tablet contains 100 mg pyridoxin hydrochloride.)

  • Duration of the application
    • The duration of the application depends on the type and severity of the underlying disease. Please ask your treating doctor.

 

  • Taking an excessive amount
    • High doses of vitamin B6 can inhibit milk production (see also during pregnancy and lactation).
    • The long -term intake (several months to years) of vitamin B6 in doses over 50 mg / day as well as the short -term intake (2 months) of doses over 1 g / day can lead to neurotoxic effects (nerve damage).
    • Overdosing is essentially shown by sensory polyneuropathy (sensory disorders, especially on hands and feet), if necessary with ataxia (movement disorders). Extremely high doses can manifest themselves in cramps.
    • If acutely doses over 150 mg / kg of body weight have been taken, artificially caused vomiting and the administration of activated carbon are recommended. Vomiting is most effective in the first 30 minutes after taking it. If necessary, intensive care measures are required.

Patient information

  • Prevention measures for the application
    • When taking daily doses over 50 mg of pyridoxin hydrochloride and with short -term use of doses in the gram area, tingling and ants on the hands and feet (signs of peripheral sensory neuropathy or paraesthesia) were observed. Pregnancy
