Field of use

• This is a vegetable medicine to relieve slight cramp-like symptoms of the digestive tract, of flatulence and abdominal pain, especially in patients with irritable bowel syndrome.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to peppermint oil or menthol or one of the other components of this medicine.
  • if you have liver diseases, inflammatory diseases in the area of biliary tract (cholangitis), low stomach acid production (Achlorhydria), gallstones or any other bile diseases.
  • of children under 8 years.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Adult:
    • 1 to 2 capsules 3 times a day
  • Children from 8 to 12 years and young people over 12 years:
    • 1 capsule 3 times a day
  • Not for use in children under 8 years.
• Special patient groups:
  • There is no sufficient data for a specific dosage recommendation for patients with restricted kidney function.
• Do not exceed the given dose.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The stomach -resistant capsules should be taken until the symptoms (signs of illness) subside. This is usually the case within one to two weeks. In cases where the symptoms last longer, the application can be continued for up to 3 months at a time.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Please notify your doctor. This may decide on the necessary measures.
  • The side effects listed below may occur.
  • An overdose can probably be strongly complaints in the stomach, in the thin and large intestine, diarrhea (diarrhea), injuries to the rectum, epileptic seizures, unconsciousness, breathing arrest (apnea), nausea, cardiac arrhythmias, disruption of the coordination of muscle movements and cause other problems of the nervous system.

Taking

• Take in the preparation at least half an hour before or two hours after eating with plenty of cold liquid (preferably drinking water). The capsules must be taken as a whole.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
  • Particular caution when taking it is required,
    • if you already suffer from heartburn or a diaphragm break (hiatus hernia), the symptoms sometimes worsen after taking peppermint oil. In these cases you must end the application of the preparation.
  • The capsules have to be swallowed in one piece, that is not damaged or chewed, because it releases the peppermint oil prematurely, which can possibly lead to local irritation in the mouth and in the esophagus.
  • Children
    • The drug must not be taken by children under 8 years.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
• Security during pregnancy and breastfeeding was not sufficiently examined. It is not known whether components of peppermint oil pass into breast milk.
• For pregnant women and breastfeeding, it is not recommended to take the drug.
