Field of use

• The mouth is a yeast -specific antifungal.
• It is used for nystatin -sensitive yeast infections of the oral cavity (oral soor).
• If you don't feel better or worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

Contradictions

• The mouth gel must not be applied,
  • if you are allergic to Nystatin or a related active ingredient (amphotericin B, Natamycin) or one of the other components of this medicine.
  • Experience in the use of patients treated with cytostatics is not available.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described here or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Adults and children (>/= 2 years) should take the mouth gel 3 - 6 times a day, in severe cases every 2 hours, 1 g gel each (1 measuring spoon).
  • For newborns (0 to 4 weeks) and toddlers (4 weeks to 1 year), it makes sense to put 1/2 - 1 measuring spoon (1/2 - 1 gram) before and after the meal. This can optimize the effect in the mouth.
  • Even with newborns and small children, the elderly of the gel in the mouth must be striving for as long as possible.

• Duration of the application:
  • A significant improvement occurs within a few days during the treatment of the oral thrust. However, the treatment should be continued at least 2 days beyond the discharge of the symptoms.
  • However, the duration of the treatment should not exceed 28 days.

Taking

• The mouth is taken, left in the mouth for a few minutes and then swallowed.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Nystatin, the active ingredient in this medicine, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dose after oral gift over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes. The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The mouth gel can be used after pregnancy and lactation for benefits/risk assessment.
