Spray, connect, track: The smart nicorette^® spray with NFC-chip can be connected to the "nicorette^® non-smoker" tracking app. If you feel like smoking, the nicorette^® spray quickly relieves the physical symptoms. The spray can then simply be held to the smartphone after each use and every spray burst can be recorded. The app continuously tracks your progress.

Application:
Correct application of the nicorette^® spray.

Before using the nicotine spray for the first time:
    •   This procedure is also recommended if the spray has not been used for more than 2 days

Unlocking the child lock
    •   Slide the button down with your thumb until it can be easily pushed inwards. Do not exert too much pressure
    •   Push the pressed button up until the spray head is fully visible → nicorette^® Spray is now unlocked

Correct spraying with the nicorette^® spray
    •   Hold the spray very close to the open mouth
    •   Press the spray head & into the oral cavity or aim sideways into the cheek pouch
    •   When using the nicotine spray: do not swallow, inhale or wet your lips with spray
    •   If the desire to smoke persists, another puff is possible
    •   Lock the spray again after use



Maximum dose:

Duration:

Field of use

Nicorette Mint Spray with nicotine (pack size: 1 piece) is used to help you quit smoking if you want to stop smoking immediately or to help you reduce your cigarette consumption (smoking reduction) to stop smoking to achieve complete quitting smoking in this way. This is a type of treatment known as nicotine replacement therapy.

Mode of action

With each spray, therapeutic nicotine gets through the oral mucosa into the bloodstream and causes the nicotine level to rise. This reduces the acute craving for a cigarette.

Dosage of Nicorette Mint Spray with nicotine (pack size: 1 piece):

Do not use more than 2 sprays in a row or 4 sprays per hour for 16 hours. The maximum dose over a 24-hour period is 64 sprays in any 16-hour period. Normally you should use nicorette® mint spray for 3 months when you quit smoking immediately. In the case of smoking reduction followed by smoking cessation, cigarettes can also be reduced first. nicorette® Spray should not be used for longer than 6 months.

b. To dispense a spray into your mouth, press the top of the dispenser. You should avoid wetting your lips or inhaling while spraying to avoid spray getting down your throat. For best results, do not swallow for a few seconds after spraying.

• If you have recently (within the last 3 months) had a heart attack or stroke.
• if you have chest pain (unstable angina pectoris) or angina pectoris at rest.
• if you have a heart condition that affects the speed of your heartbeat or heart rhythm.
• if you suffer from high blood pressure that is not adequately controlled by medicines.
• if you have ever had an allergic reaction with swelling of the lips, face and throat (angioedema) or itchy skin rash (urticaria). The use of nicotine substitutes can sometimes trigger such reactions.
• if you have severe or moderate liver disease.
• if you suffer from severe kidney disease.
• if you have diabetes.
• if your thyroid is overactive.
• if you have a tumor of the adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma).
• if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer.
• if you suffer from inflammation of the esophagus (oesophagitis).


Use of nicorette® mint spray together with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or might take/use any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription. This is particularly important if you are taking medicines containing any of the following active substances:
Theophylline to treat asthma
Tacrine used to treat Alzheimer's disease
Clozapine used to treat schizophrenia
Ropinirole used to treat Parkinson's disease

Use of nicorette® mint spray together with food and drinks
Do not eat or drink while using the spray.

nicorette® mint spray may not be used by non-smokers.

children and young people
Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents.

Pregnancy

It is very important to stop smoking during pregnancy as smoking can lead to stunted growth of your baby and also to premature birth or stillbirth. It is best if you can quit smoking without using nicotine-containing medicines. If you are unable to do this, you should only use nicorette® mint spray after consulting the healthcare professional who is managing your pregnancy, your family doctor or a doctor at a center that specializes in helping people to quit smoking.
The use of nicorette® mint spray should be avoided while breastfeeding, as nicotine passes into breast milk and can affect your child. If your doctor has recommended the use of nicorette® mint spray, you should use the spray immediately after breastfeeding and not in the last 2 hours before breastfeeding.
Smoking increases the risk of infertility in both women and men. It is not known how nicotine affects fertility.
