MOVICOL® liquid orange

MOVICOL® liquid orange is used to treat acute and chronic constipation in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.

The physiological effect of MOVICOL® liquid orange is based on the natural processes of the organism.By taking MOVICOL® liquid orange, the stool volume is increased and the stool in the intestine is softened.This triggers defecation, which usually resolves the constipation within 1-2 days.

MOVICOL® has a gentle effect, is well tolerated and does not cause cramps - as is the case with herbal laxatives, for example.Because it is not broken down in the intestines, there is usually no flatulence caused by the active ingredient.

Application

Adults, adolescents and older people with acute and chronic constipation take a dose of MOVICOL® liquid orange one to three times a day, depending on the severity of their constipation.

One dose of MOVICOL® liquid orange corresponds to 25 ml of liquid, which is diluted with 100 ml of water.

Preparing the solution

Open the bottle and measure out 25 ml or 5 teaspoonfuls (5 ml each).Pour the liquid into a glass and add about 100 ml (about half a glass) of water.Stir until the liquid has mixed evenly and the MOVICOL® liquid orange solution is clear.Now you can drink the solution.

Notes

This medical device contains ethyl and methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, which can cause hypersensitivity reactions, including delayed reactions.

It also contains:

• a small amount of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg per 25 ml dose
• 45.6 mg of benzyl alcohol in each 125 ml dose prepared.The specified dose must not be exceeded.

• 13.125g Macrogol 3350
• 0.3507 g sodium chloride
• 0.1785 g sodium bicarbonate
• 0.0466 g potassium chloride

Other ingredients: purified water, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, benzyl alcohol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, ethyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, orange flavor (= natural-naturally identical flavorings, ethanol)

Area of application

Movicol Liquid Orange for the treatment of acute and chronic constipation in adults, adolescents and elderly patients.It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.There are other Movicol products available for this patient group.

Movicol liquid orange helps you have comfortable bowel movements, even if you have suffered from constipation for a long time.

Movicol liquid orange is not recommended for the treatment of coprostasis.Alternative Movicol products are available for the treatment of coprostasis.

Each 25 ml of Movicol liquid orange contains the following ingredients:
Macrogol 3350 13.125 g
Sodium chloride 0.3507 g
Sodium bicarbonate 0.1785 g
Potassium chloride 0.0466 g

Movicol liquid orange also contains purified water, orange flavor as well as acesulfame potassium (E950) and sucralose (E955) as a sweetener.It also contains the preservatives benzyl alcohol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E218) and ethyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E214).
The orange flavor contains the following components: flavorings, flavoring preparations and ethanol (alcohol).
For each 25 ml, the following values result after dilution with 100 ml of water:
Sodium 65 mmol/l
Chloride 53 mmol/l
Potassium 5.4 mmol/l
Hydrogen carbonate 17 mmol/l

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended dosage of Movicol Liquid Orange:

To maintain good health, including a healthy gut, it is recommended to drink an adequate amount of fluids (generally 2 to 2.5 liters daily).You can take this product at any time and regardless of food and drink intake.

Constipation:
This product must not be taken undiluted.
One dose of Movicol liquid orange corresponds to 25 ml of liquid, which is diluted with 100 ml of water.
Depending on the severity of your constipation, take the ready-to-use solution 1 to 3 times a day.

Duration of application:
Constipation:
Treatment with Movicol liquid orange usually lasts about 2 weeks.If you need to take Movicol liquid orange for a longer period of time, please talk to your doctor.If your constipation is caused by an illness such as:B. Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis (MS) or if you are taking medicines that cause constipation, your doctor may recommend that you take Movicol liquid orange for more than 2 weeks.
Usually the effective dose for long-term treatment is 1 or 2 doses per day.

Intake

• This medicine can be taken at any time without regard to food.
