Field of use

• The preparation is a drug from the group of laxatives for the treatment of chronic constipation in adolescents, adults and elderly patients. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.
• Macrogol helps you to have a comfortable bowel movement, even if you have been constipated for a long time.
• If you do not feel better or if you feel worse, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

• The preparation must not be taken
  • if you are allergic to macrogol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, potassium chloride, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • with a perforated intestinal wall
  • if you have an intestinal blockage (intestinal obstruction, ileus)
  • in severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as B. ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease or toxic megacolon

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Adults, children (from 12 years of age) and elderly patients:
  • The recommended dose for constipation is 1 sachet 1 to 3 times daily according to your individual needs.
• Use in children (under 12 years)
  • The preparation is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. Other products are available for this age group.

 

• Duration of use
  • The duration of use for constipation should normally not be longer than 2 weeks.
  • On the advice of your doctor, you may need to take the medicine for longer than 2 weeks if you have persistent constipation or a disease that causes constipation (such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis), or you regularly take other constipation-promoting medicines. In these cases your doctor may advise you to reduce the dose to one sachet once or twice a day.

 

• If you take more than you should
  • You may get very severe diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration of the body. If this happens, stop taking it and drink plenty of fluids. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

 

• If you forget to take a dose
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Continue use at the intended dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

 

• If you stop taking it
  • To get the greatest benefit, always take your medicine as directed or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. This will ensure that your constipation is cleared, otherwise the discomfort you are suffering from could persist.
  • If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, you must consult a doctor.

 

• If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Revenue

• This medicine can be taken at any time, regardless of a meal.
• Open the sachet and pour the contents into a glass. Add about 125 ml of water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved and the solution is clear or slightly cloudy. Now you can drink the solution.

Patient notes

• Warnings and Precautions
  • You should continue to drink enough liquid while taking it. The liquid content of the preparation does not replace your regular liquid intake.
  • If you develop side effects such as swelling, shortness of breath, tiredness, dehydration (symptoms include increased thirst, dry mouth and weakness) or heart problems, you should stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

 

• Driving and using machines
  • The preparation has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• The drug can be taken during pregnancy and lactation.
