Ingredients of Lioran Classic for day and night hard capsules (pack size: 80 pcs) :

1 hard capsule contains:
260 mg of dry extract of passion flower herb (5 – 7: 1)
Extraction agent: methanol 60% (V/V)

The other ingredients are:
Lactose Monohydrate, Cellulose Powder, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Magnesium Stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], gelatin, sodium laurilsulfate, trisodium chlorophyllin-copper complex (E141), titanium dioxide (E171)

Contraindications

If hypersensitivity to individual ingredients is known, Lioran Classic for day and night hard capsules (pack size: 80 pieces) should not be used.

Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age take 2 hard capsules twice a day.

1. Time of ingestion
When is the best time to take Lioran® classic
Depending on the degree of nervousness, it is possible to take 2 capsules a day. Lioran® classic does not make you tired and does not limit your ability to concentrate. Lioran® classic is also suitable as a “sleep aid” if nervous restlessness makes it difficult to fall asleep. Here 2 capsules in the evening are recommended. However, the maximum daily dose of 4 capsules should not be exceeded.4 There are no restrictions on how long Lioran® classic can be taken for night and day! 2. difficulties swallowing “My mother has problems taking the capsules. She would like to open it and take the contents without the case, is that possible?” Of course, if swallowing the capsule causes problems, it is possible to open it. The capsule can be pulled apart, you can then e.g. Stir into yoghurt or applesauce and eat with it. It is very important to only remove the capsule from the blister directly before opening and taking the powder, so that the quality and effect of the dry extract contained are not impaired. To protect the capsule from excessive pressure when de-blistering, please score the protective film with your fingernail.

Lioran® classic for night and day is a capsule preparation with the ingredient passion flower herb dry extract. The capsule strength is deliberately chosen to be thin in order to allow rapid dissolution in the stomach and a rapid onset of action. The capsule has no coating, as z. B. coated tablets and can protect against climatic influences. The ingredient is very sensitive to humidity. If this is bound, the contents can stick together to form a sticky mass. In such a case, an optimal release of active substance and effect can no longer be guaranteed.

4. Extraction agent methanol
“The extraction agent methanol 60% by volume is listed in the components under the heading further information. Can you please explain to me what this means in practice. How much alcohol is in a capsule?”
Methanol is used as an extractant because studies show that methanolic extracts have a higher anxiolytic effect than ethanolic extracts. Alcoholic extraction agents (e.g. methanol) are used to access the valuable ingredients. This would not be possible with just water and makes the clear difference to tea. Of course, as a ready-to-use preparation, Lioran® classic no longer contains any residues of the extractant - it is therefore absolutely alcohol-free!

5. Kidney problems
May the passion flower extract also be administered to people with renal insufficiency
Lioran® classic is a natural medicine containing Passiflora incarnata as an ingredient – a dry extract of passion flower herb. Plant extracts are always mixtures of a large number of individual substances and the effectiveness is attributed to the total extract. It is not possible to determine the degradation of each individual substance. Therefore, there is insufficient data for a specific dosage recommendation in renal insufficiency.

6. Lactose Monohydrate
Are these Lioran® passionflower hard capsules also available without the addition of lactose
If there is a lactose intolerance, digestive problems occur about 30 minutes to 2 hours after ingesting lactose-containing foods. The symptoms only appear after a certain amount of lactose (e.g. 12-18 g lactose), are dose-dependent and vary greatly from person to person. Food is considered lactose-free if it contains less than 0.1 g lactose per 100 g. For comparison: 100 g whole milk contains 4.6 - 4.8 g lactose. Our product Lioran® classic contains a total of 0.0368 g lactose monohydrate per capsule. If the maximum daily dose of 4 capsules is taken, the total intake would be 0.1472 g of lactose monohydrate. With a single maximum dose of 2 capsules, the lactose intake would be 0.0736 g lactose monohydrate. This is significantly less than a product declared “lactose-free food” may contain.
