1. What is Gabunat and what is it used for?

Gabunat is a vitamin preparation.

What is it used for?
Gabunat is used

• for the prevention and treatment of a biotin deficiency (for prevention, less than 0.2 mg biotin are sufficient in the day)
• for the treatment of a biotin deficiency in the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency

2. What should you consider before taking?

2.1 Do not take:
They may not take Gabunat if they are allergic to biotin or one of the other ingredients of this medicine referred to in section 6.

2.2 Warnings and Precautions:
A special caution when taking is not required.

Children:
Give Gabunat children up to 12 years only after consulting the doctor, as so far no sufficient experience for a general recommendation for this age group exist.

Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
When used as intended, there are no restrictions.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking / application of all medicines.

Impact on the ability to drive and the ability to serve machines:
Gabunat has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

2.3 Interactions:

3. How to take Gabunat?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or just according to the consultation made with your doctor or pharmacist. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
For the prevention and treatment of a biotin deficiency: daily 1 Hard capsule Gabunat (equivalent to 5 mg biotin). For prevention, less than 0.2 mg are sufficient. For lower dosages there are supplements with less content of biotin available.
To treat the multiple carboxylasem angel: daily 1 to 2 Hard capsulen Gabunat (equivalent to 5 to 10 mg of biotin).

Type of application:
Please take the capsules with sufficient fluid, preferably with a glass of drinking water (about 200 ml).

How long do you take Gabunat?
Gabunat should be taken until the biotin values have normalized in the blood. The duration of ingestion depends on the basic disease. Please ask your doctor please. In the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylas shortage, the intake takes place lifelong. If you take a larger amount than you should:

Storage conditions:
