How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient protects the nerves of the arms and especially legs from the damaging influences of diabetes (diabetes). For this, two mechanisms come into play: On the one hand, the fabric ensures that the blood supply to the nerves does not hinder dismantling products that arise in the blood that is too high. To achieve this, the active ingredient reduces the development of these products. On the other hand, it captures nerve-damaging substances that arise due to insufficient blood and associated oxygen supply.

- Children and adolescents under the age of 18: The drug must not be used.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: Contact your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Still -time: Contact your doctor or pharmacist. He will check your special starting position and advise you accordingly whether and how you can continue with breastfeeding.

If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.

What should you consider?
- Caution with allergy against dyes (e.g. Tartrazin (E 102), yellow orange S (E 110), Azorubin (E 122), Amaranth (E 123) and Ponceau 4R (E 124)).
- Beware of an intolerance to fructose (fructose). If you have to adhere to a diabetes diet, you shouldlT take into account.
- There can be medicinal products with which interactions occur. Therefore, you should generally provide the doctor or pharmacist before treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only apply occasionally or that the application has been available for some time.

Field of use

• Thiocic acid, the active ingredient in this medicine, is a substance formed in the body's own metabolism that influences certain metabolism of the body. In addition, Thioccic acid has the nerve cells protecting (antioxidant) properties protecting mining products.
• The capsules are used in the event of sensations in diabetic nerve damage (polyneuropathy).

dosage

• Always take the capsules exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Unless otherwise prescribed, the daily dose is 2 soft capsules (corresponding to 600 mg Thiocic acid), which is to be taken as a one -off dose about 30 minutes before the first meal.

 

• How long should you take the capsules?
  • Since diabetic nerve damage is a chronic disease, it may be that you have to take the capsules permanently. In individual cases your doctor decides.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • In the event of overdose, nausea, vomiting and headache can occur.
  • In individual cases, when taking more than 10 g Thiocic acid, especially with strong alcohol consumption, severity, e.g. T. life-threatening symptoms observed (such as generalized seizures, derailment of the acid base household with lactate acidosis, serious disorders of blood clotting).
  • Therefore, if suspected of considerable overdose or accidental intake (e.g. more than 10 capsules for 600 mg in adults and more than 50 mg/kg body weight in children), an immediate clinic introduction and the initiation of measures according to the general treatment principles of Poison cases required.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

Taking

• How and when should you take the capsules?
  • The capsules are to be incolored and with sufficient liquid on an empty stomach. The simultaneous absorption of food can hinder the transition of thiocic acid into the bloodstream. Therefore, it is particularly important for patients who also have an extended gastric emptying period that takes place half an hour before the meal/breakfast.

Patient information

• Particular caution is required when taking it
  • Patients with a certain HLA (Humane Leukocyte antigen system) genotype (which occurs more often in patients from Japan and Korea, but can also be found in Caucasians) are more susceptible to the occurrence of insulinutoimmunsynDROMS (a disturbance of blood sugar regulating hormones with strong drops of blood sugar levels).
  • Children:
    • Children and adolescents are to be taken from the treatment because there are no sufficient experiences for this age group.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.
• It corresponds to the general principles of pharmacotherapy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding pharmaceuticals only to apply after careful use-risk assessment.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding should only undergo treatment with thiocic acid after careful recommendation and surveillance by the doctor, since so far there is no experience with this patient group. Special studies on animals have not given any indications of fertility disorders or fruit -damaging effects.
• Nothing is known about a possible transition of thictic acid to breast milk.

Miscellaneous

- The basis of diabetic polyneuropathy therapy is the optimal diabetes setting.

- No alcohol should be drunk during treatment with the medicine, since the effect of the drug can be weakened by alcohol.
