Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsule 120 mg, hard capsule retarded
For use in adults
Active substance: Dimenhydrinate

Read the entire leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without prescription. However, in order to achieve the best possible treatment success, vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules must be used in accordance with properly.

1. What are Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules and what are you taken for?

Vertigo-byex® SR Retard Capsules are a means of dizziness from the group of H1antihistamines. Vertigo-Fromex® SR Retard Capsules are taken to symptomatic treatment of elderly patients with dizziness of different origin.

2. What do you need to consider before taking Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules?

Vertigo-byex® SR Retard Capsules may not be taken
  • Hypersensitivity to Dimenhydrinate, other antihistamines or any other component of the medicine,
  • acute asthma attack,
  • green star (narrow angle glaucoma),
  • Adrenal tumor (pheochromocytom),
  • Disruption of the production of blood dye (porphyria),
  • Enlargement of the projecting gland (prostate hyperplasia) with residual harvesting,
  • Spasmaps (epilepsy, eclampsia),
  • Children under 14 years.

Take special care with Vertigo-Fromex® SR Retard Capsules is required
  • impaired liver function,
  • Heart rhythmism (eg Heart hunting),
  • Potassium or magnesium deficiency,
  • slowed heartbeat (bradycardia),
  • certain heart diseases (innate QT-SYN-DROM or other clinically significant heart damage, in particular circulatory disorders of coronary vessels, excitement piping disorders, arrhythmias),
  • simultaneous use of medicines, which also extend the so-called QT interval in the ECG or lead to hypocalemia (see "when using Vertigo-VISEX® SR Retard Capsules with other medicines"),
  • chronic breathing difficulties and asthma,
  • Constriction at the exit of the stomach (pylorus stenosis).

Vertigo-Fromex® SR Retard Capsules may only be taken after consultation with the doctor in these cases.

Important information about certain ingredients of Vertigo-fromex® SR Retard Capsules:
This medicine contains sucrose. Please take vertigo-vomEX® SR Retard Capsules only after consultation with your doctor if you are famous for you to suffer from intolerance to certain sugars.

Taking Vertigo-VISEX® SR Retard Capsules with other medicines:
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take / use other medicines or recently taken / applied, even if it is non-prescription medicines. While taking Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules with other centrally attenuating medicines (medicines that influence the psyche, sleep, calming, pain and anesthesia)) it can lead to a mutual strengthening of the effects.

The "anticholinergic" effect of vertigo-vomex® sr retard capsules (See "Which side effects are possible?") Can be reinforced by the simultaneous administration of other substances with anticholinergic effects (eg atropine, berids or certain means against depression tricyclic antidepressants) in a unpredictable manner. With simultaneous administration of Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules with so-called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Medicines also used for the treatment of depression) may u. U. develop a life-threatening intestinal paralysis, a urinary conservation or an increase in intraocular pressure. In addition, it can lead to the drop in blood pressure and a reinforced functional restriction of the central nervous system and the breathing. Therefore, Vertigo-byex® SR Retard Capsules may not be taken simultaneously with inhibitors of monoamine oxidase.

Simultaneous ingestion with medicines that
  • also extend the so-called QT interval in the ECG, e.g. B. Medium against cardiac arrhythmias (antiarrhythmics class IA or III), certain antibiotics (eg erythromycin), cisaprid, malaria funds, means against allergies or Stomach / intestinal ulcers (Antihistaminika) or means for the treatment of special spiritual mental illnesses (neuroleptics), or
  • can lead to a potassium deficiency (eg certain urinary mediums) can be avoided.

The intake of Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules together with medicines for increased blood pressure can lead to increased fatigue. The doctor should be informed prior to the implementation of allergy tests about taking Vertigo-byex® SR Retard capsules, as false-negative test results are possible. Furthermore, it should be noted that by Vertigo-VISEX® SR Retard Capsules that possibly occurring during treatment with certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides) possibly occurring hearing damage u. Taking Vertigo-Fromex® SR Retard Capsules together with food and beverages:
During treatment with Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules, no alcohol should be drunk, since alcohol can change and amplify the effect of vertigo-byex® SR retard capsules in a unpredictable manner. The ability to drive and the ability to use machines is further affected.

Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking / application of all medicines. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Dimenhydrinate, the active ingredient of Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules, can lead to triggering premature labor. The security of an application of Vertigo-fromex® SR retard capsules in pregnancy is not occupied. A risk is not excluded for Dimenhydrinate due to clinical data. You can only take Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules only after consulting your attending physician and only if this is necessary for an intake. Inform your doctor if you breastfeed. Dimenhydrinate, the active ingredient of Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules, goes into breast milk. The security of an application of Vertigo-VISEX® SR retard capsules in lactation is not occupied. Driveion and use of machines:
Drowsiness, memory disorders and reduced concentration can adversely affect the ability to drive or the ability to work with machines. 3. How are Vertigo-byex® SR to take on retard capsules?

Always take Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: In the morning one and possibly in the late afternoon another hard capsule, retarded (corresponding to 120 mg or 240 mg Dimenhydrinat per day). Within 24 hours - as possible in 8 hour distance - up to three hard capsules, retarded (corresponding to 360 mg of dimenhydrinate per day.

Type of application:
Vertigo-Fromex® SR Retard Capsules should be unadarbs and taken with plenty of fluid.

Duration of application:
Vertigo-vomex® SR retard plugs are provided only for the short-term application if not prescribed by the doctor. For persistent complaints, therefore, a doctor should be visited. At the latest after 2-week treatment should be checked by your doctor as to whether treatment with Vertigo-byex® SR Retard capsules is still required.

If you take a larger amount of Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules than you should:
Poisoning with Dimenhydrinate, the active ingredient of Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules can be life-threatening. Children are particularly at risk. In the case of overdose or poisoning with Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard capsules, a doctor (poisoning note call z. B.) must be asked immediately. An overdose with Vertigo-vomex® SR retard capsules is primarily characterized by a consciousness that can range from strong drowsiness to unconsciousness. In addition, the following characters are observed: pupil expansion, visual disturbances, accelerated heart activity, fever, hot, redded skin and dry mucous membranes, constipation, excitation states, increased reflexes and delusions. In addition, cramps and respiratory disturbances are possible, which can lead to high doses to respiration and cardiovascular standstill. The assessment of the severity of poisoning and the determination of the necessary measures takes place by the doctor.

If you forget to take Vertigo-fromex® SR Retard Capsules:
Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the previous ingestion, but continue taking Vertigo-VISEX® SR Retard Capsules as prescribed by your doctor.

If you cancel the intake of Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules:
Please stop or exit Vertigo-VISEX® SR retard plugs not without talking to your doctor before.

4. Which side effects are possible?

Like all medicines, Vertigo-byex® SR Retard Capsules may have side effects that do not have to occur. In the evaluation of side effects, the following

Possible side effects:
Depending on the individual sensitivity and the dose occupied, it is very common - especially at the beginning of treatment - at the following side effects: drowsiness, dizziness, dizziness and muscle weakness. These side effects can also lead to impairments the following day.

Often as so said "anticholinergic" concomitants of the mouth, increasing the heart rate (tachycardia), feeling of a clogged nose, vision disorder, increase in intraocular pressure and faults occur during urination. For a longer treatment with Dimenhydrinate, the development of a drug dependence is not excluded. For this reason, Vertigo-byex® SR Retard Capsules should only be applied briefly if possible. After a long-term daily use, temporarily sleep disorders can occur due to sudden exit of the treatment. Therefore, in these cases, treatment should be terminated by gradually reducing the dose.

Store drug out of reach of children. You must not use the medicinal product after the expiry date specified on the folding box and throughput packing. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

As for Vertigo-vomex® SR Retard Capsules:
The active ingredient is Dimenhydrinate. 1 hard capsule, retarded, contains 120 mg dimenhydrinate.

The other ingredients are:
Talcum, sucrose, corn starch, shellac, povidon K 30, titanium dioxide, gelatine, quinolingelb, indigocarmin, erythrosine.

How vertigo-vomex® sr retard capsules look and content of the pack:
Hard gelatin capsules (capsule top reddish brown / opaque, capsule lower part green / transparent), filled with beads. A pack contains 10, 20, 50 or 100 hard capsules, retarded.
