Ophtalmin®-n eye drops

Active ingredient: tetryzolin hydrochloride.
Areas of application: Eye irritation, e.g. by smoke, wind, Gechlortes water and light; allergic inflammation of the eye, e.g. hay liver and supervisory flower.
Warnings: contains benzalkonium chloride and phosphate. Note leaflet. Medicines for children Keep out of reach. Pharmacy.

Field of use

  • The preparation is a ophthalmic (medicinal products for use on the eye) with decongestant effect.
  • For the swelling of the mucous membrane with non -infectious eye irritation, e.g. B. by smoke, wind, chlorinated water, light and with allergic inflammation, such as. B. hay fever with eye participation.

  • duration of the application,
    • long -term application and overdose, especially in children, must be avoided.
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak

 

  • If you have used a larger amount than you should.
      • ngen, mental disorders.

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation.
    • You should only apply the medicine on the advice of the doctor, at
      • severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, pheochromocytoma),
      • benign prostate enlargement,
      • Metabolic disorders (e.g. overactive thyroid, diabetes, disruption of the formation of the red blood pigment),
      • dry nasal mucosa and conjunctivitis,
      • Treatment with possibly blood pressure-enhancing medication (e.g. Mao-inhibitor).
      • The preparation must not be used for narrow -angle glaucoma. With other glaucoma, the application may only be carried out with special caution and under medical control.
      • Especially with longer use and overdose of decongestant medicines for use on the eye, their effect can decrease. As a result of the abuse of mucosal swelling drugs for use on the eye, can occur:
        • a reinforced or reactive hyperemia of conjunctiva and nasal mucosa (rhinitis medicamentosa)
    • What precautions should be taken?
      • Eye irritation or eye stems are often a sign of serious eye diseases that have to be treated by the ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist should be visited immediately when strong acute or one-sided eye reddening occurs or severe eye and headache, vision deterioration, seeing double images or flying points in front of the eyes.
      • Notes for contact lens carriers
        • In principle, no contact lenses may be worn in the present eye disease. If in exceptional cases it is permitted to wear hard contact lenses, take them out before dropping and only use them again 15 minutes after dropping. Soft contact lenses may not be worn with eye drops preserved with benzalkonium chloride such as this preparation.
      • Children
        • Infants and children under the age of 2 must not be treated with this medicine.
        • Long -term application and overdose, especially in children, must be avoided. The application in children and higher doses may therefore only be carried out under medical control.

 

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • After using the eye drops, a pupil expansion and blurred vision can rarely occur. In these cases, the reaction capacity in road traffic or operating machines or working can be impaired without a safe hold.
    • Therefore, you should ask your doctor in case of doubt before driving a car or other vehicles or operating electrical tools or machines or working without a safe hold.

Pregnancy

  • The preparation must not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Miscellaneous

- Since eye irritation or the reddening of the eye can be a sign of a serious eye disease, the ophthalmologist should be interviewed.
- The ophthalmologist must be consulted immediately if the reddening of the eye occurs acutely or one-sided as well as when eye or headache, vision or flying points occur in front of the eyes.
- Medicines can affect vision and thus the responsibility in road traffic or in the operation of machines.
- Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment (soft) or only after consultation with the ophthalmologist (in no case during the insert).
