Field of use

• The preparation is an eye medicine (ophthalmic) from the group of tear substitutes and contains the synthetic polymer Povidone K 25 as the active ingredient.
• Application areas
  • Symptomatic therapy of “dry eye” (tear substitutes if the quality of the tear film is poor or the surface of the eye is not sufficiently moistened).
  • Used as a wetting agent for hard and soft contact lenses.

Contraindications

• The preparation must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

dosage

• Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Depending on your needs, instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye up to 5 times a day or more frequently.
  • The amount contained in the single-dose container is sufficient to treat the right and left eyes. After use, the container must be discarded immediately. Any residue left behind may not be reused.

 

• Duration of application
  • Since there is no sufficient experience with the preparation for use for longer than 8 weeks, the duration of use should be limited to this period.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used more than you should
  • If too many drops are accidentally placed in the eye, the excess amount will generally flow out through the nasolacrimal duct.

 

• If you forget to use it
  • If you forget to use it, do so as soon as possible and then go back to your regular dosing schedule. If the preparation is not dripped regularly or is forgotten more often, the success of the treatment is questioned.

 

• If you also use other eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 minutes between each application. Eye ointments should be used last.

Intake

• The preparation is intended for use on the eyes.
• Application instructions
  • Tilt your head back slightly, hold the single-dose container between your thumb and index finger and pull the lower eyelid slightly downwards with the index finger of your other hand.
  • Allow a drop to fall into the conjunctival sac by applying gentle pressure on the container.
• The eye drops are sterile until the original cap is opened. To avoid injury or contamination, do not bring the dropper tip into contact with the surface of the eye or any other surface.

  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.
  • If headache, eye pain, vision changes, eye irritation, persistent redness occur, or if dry eye irritation persists or worsens, you should stop treatment and consult your doctor.

 

• Ability to drive and use machines
  • After using the product, blurred vision may occur for a short time. Patients must not drive a vehicle, work without a secure footing or use tools and machines until this impairment has subsided.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.
• Pregnancy
  • There is no sufficient experience with the use of the preparation in pregnant women. However, absorption into the entire organism is likely to be low after eye application. If necessary, use of the product during pregnancy can be considered.
• Lactation
  • After application to the eyes, only small amounts of the active ingredient pass into breast milk that no undesirable effects on the breastfed child are to be expected. You can therefore use the product while breastfeeding.
