Field of use

• The medicine is a mineral preparation
• Field of use:
  • Proven magnesium deficiency if it is the cause of muscle activity disorders (neuromuscular disorders, leg cramps).

Contraindications

• The medicine must not be taken:
  • if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients
  • in severe kidney dysfunction
  • in myasthenia gravis
  • Conduction disorder between the atrium and ventricle of the heart (AV block)
• If necessary, the doctor must check whether the electrolyte status indicates a contraindication.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Please adhere to the dosage instructions, otherwise the medicine cannot work properly!
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • The following dosage guidelines apply for the average daily dose:
    • Adults and adolescents: 1 chewable tablet 1 - 3 times daily
    • Children from 6 years: ½ chewable tablet 1 - 3 times daily

 

• Duration of application:
  • There is no time limit for the duration of use. If you have a chronic magnesium deficiency, you should take it for more than 4 weeks.

 

• If you take more than you should:
  • When taking magnesium, no symptoms of poisoning are to be expected if the kidney function is normal. If you take more medicine than you should, please notify your doctor. This can decide on any necessary measures. The side effects listed below may occur more frequently. Any diarrhea can be remedied by reducing or discontinuing the preparation.

 

• If you forget to take it
  • Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

 

• If you stop taking it
  • In order to achieve successful treatment, the medicine should be taken as regularly as possible. If you would like to interrupt or end treatment early, please speak to your doctor.

 

Intake

• The tablets should be chewed with some liquid before meals.

• Particular caution is required when taking the drug:
  • If you have mild or moderate kidney dysfunction, only take this medicine after consulting your doctor!
  • If you are known to have a predisposition to the formation of struvite kidney stones (magnesium ammonium phosphate stones), consult your doctor before taking the medication! Diseases caused by magnesium deficiency can also have other causes. If taking it has no effect, you should consult your doctor.
  • Children and the elderly:
    • The medicine should not be used in children under 6 years of age.
    • No special precautions are required for older people.

 

• Ability to drive and use machines:
  • There are no special precautions required.

 

Pregnancy

• There have been no reports of adverse effects during pregnancy/breastfeeding in humans.
• If magnesium is administered shortly before birth, the newborn should be monitored for signs of toxicity (neurological depression with respiratory depression, muscle weakness, loss of reflexes).

- If you have diarrhea, you should temporarily stop taking it. If there is no longer any diarrhea, then the intake can be continued with a reduced dosage.- If you take larger amounts over the long term, regular checks of the magnesium level in the blood should be carried out, especially if you have impaired kidney function.- If you take larger amounts over the long term, you may experience symptoms of fatigue, especially if you have impaired kidney function appear. This may indicate an excess of magnesium in the blood. In this case, the amount taken should be reduced or the intake should be stopped temporarily.
