Area of application

Hevert Dorm tablets for problems falling asleep and staying asleep.
The medicine Hevert Dorm tablets reduces the effect of the “wake-up hormone” histamine.This allows normal evening tiredness to set in and the body to prepare for sleep.
Hevert Dorm usually does not cause tiredness or sleepiness the following day if taken at the recommended dosage and followed by sufficient sleep.

Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 25 mg
Other ingredients: lactosemonohydrate, povidone 25, microcrystalline cellulose, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Hevert Dorm tablets:

Always take Hevert Dorm exactly as your doctor has told you.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure!

Unless otherwise prescribed, the usual dose for adults is 2 tablets (equivalent to 50 mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride).This dose should not be exceeded.

Patients with impaired liver or kidney function should receive lower doses.

It is also recommended that the dose be adjusted if necessary in elderly or weakened patients who may be particularly sensitive.

Children and young people under the age of 18 should only be treated with Hevert Dorm after careful consideration of the risks and benefits.

The tablets are taken whole in the evening, 30 minutes before going to bed, with plenty of liquid (a glass of water).Afterwards, a sufficient amount of sleep (7-8 hours) should be ensured.

The duration of treatment should be as short as possible.In general it should only last a few days and not exceed 2 weeks.If sleep disorders persist, please consult a doctor!

Intake

• The tablets are taken whole in the evening 30 minutes before going to bed with plenty of liquid (a glass of water).
• A sufficient amount of sleep (7 - 8 hours) should then be ensured.

Patient information

• Particular caution is required when taking the medicine,
  • if you suffer from any of the following illnesses:
    • impaired liver function,
    • chronic lung diseases or asthma,
    • certain stomach dysfunctions (pyloric stenosis or achalasia of the cardia)
  • After repeated use of sleeping pills over a long period of time, a loss of effectiveness (tolerance) may occur.
  • As with other sleeping pills, taking the medicine can lead to the development of physical and psychological dependence.The risk of dependence increases with the dose and duration of treatment.This risk is also increased in patients with a history of alcohol, medication or drug addiction.
  • When stopping treatment with the medicine, sleep disorders may temporarily recur due to sudden discontinuation.It is therefore recommended that treatment be stopped by gradually reducing the dose if necessary.
  • Children and young people
    • There is no sufficient experience with the effectiveness and tolerability of diphenhydramine as a sleeping pill in children and adolescents.Therefore, the medicine should only be prescribed to children and adolescents under 18 years of age after careful consideration of the risks and benefits.

 

• Ability to drive and use machines
  • Do not drive vehicles or operate dangerous machines after taking the medicine.Even the following day, residual tiredness and impaired ability to react can still have a detrimental effect on the ability to drive or work with machines, especially after insufficient sleep.

  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicines.
  • The medicine must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

This medicine contains lactose.Please only take Hevert Dorm after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from lactose intolerance.
