GluteoStop® is a dietary supplement for adults to specifically complement a gluten-free diet.

Grain products are part of everyday life for many people.However, pizza, pasta and bread lose their lightness when gluten causes problems.Gluten protein is a natural component of many types of grain such as wheat, rye and barley.As a rule, consumption has no consequences, but it causes symptoms in certain groups of people.

The reasons for this are different.

From a medical perspective, the term gluten intolerance is a generic term for various diseases that occur in connection with gluten or grains containing gluten.These include:

• Celiac disease (autoimmune disease)
• Wheat allergy
• Wheat or gluten sensitivity (sometimes called non-celiac disease non-wheat allergy wheat sensitivity (NCGS))

Such a clear distinction between celiac disease, wheat allergy and gluten sensitivity is important because disease mechanisms and symptoms differ significantly:

Celiac disease - chronic autoimmune disease of the small intestine

Even very small amounts of gluten trigger an immune reaction.In addition to typical gastrointestinal complaints, other non-specific signs often occur, including fatigue, skin changes, difficulty concentrating, and headaches or joint pain.

Wheat allergy - allergic reaction to wheat proteins, including gluten

The problems are predominantly of an allergic nature, such as skin rashes, itching or allergic rhinitis. GluteoStop® is not suitable for people with wheat allergies.

Gluten sensitivity - also gluten intolerance or gluten intolerance

The symptoms are partly similar to celiac disease, without the presence of an autoimmune reaction.Digestive problems are often accompanied by fatigue, skin irritations, headaches or poor concentration.A diagnosis is only possible after celiac disease and wheat allergy have been ruled out.This distinction also gives rise to the term non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS).

Limited gluten tolerance requires special care when choosing food in everyday life.Even with a gluten-free diet there remains a residual risk, as many supposedly “safe” products can contain traces of gluten protein.Studies show: Despite a consistent diet, people with celiac disease unnoticed consume around 150 to 400 mg of gluten every day - an amount that can cause symptoms.(1)

Gluteostop tablets supplement a gluten-free diet with the help of an enzyme.The contained prolyl oligopeptidase (AN-PEP) breaks down gluten in the stomach and supports the handling of unintentionally ingested amounts of gluten in everyday life.

Important: GluteoStop® is not intended to treat or prevent gluten sensitivity, celiac disease or wheat allergy and does not replace a gluten-free diet.

Mode of action

GluteoStop® tablets use a special prolyl oligopeptidase with the following properties:

• The enzyme targets the amino acid proline and breaks gluten into smaller fragments.
• The enzymatic activity is retained even in the acidic stomach environment.
• The majority of the gluten consumed is broken down by the enzyme in the stomach before it reaches the small intestine and can cause symptoms there.
• Clinical studies show a significantly higher efficiency in breaking down gluten compared to other peptidases such as dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP-IV).(2)

Filler: Microcrystalline cellulose, cross-linked sodium carboxymethyl cellulose 
Release agents: silicon dioxide, calcium salts of fatty acids

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.
If you have known health problems or chronic illnesses, we recommend that you seek medical advice before taking it.

Dosage

Recommended use of Gluteostop tablets:

The dosage of GluteoStop® is based on food selection and individual tolerance threshold:

• Adults with gluten intolerance take 1 to 2 tablets shortly before a meal.
• If you eat high-protein foods or consume more dairy products, a larger number of tablets may make sense.
• The reaction to gluten in non-celiac disease gluten sensitivity (NCGS) varies from person to person - this is called the individual tolerance threshold.
• Adjust the dosage of the tablets gradually to your personal tolerance threshold and the amount of gluten consumed.
  
  

For optimal activity of the enzyme, please note the following instructions:

• Do not drink a glass of milk immediately after taking the tablets.
• Larger amounts of milk protein can weaken the breakdown of gluten by GluteoStop®.
• Sparkling water, for example, is suitable as a drink instead, as an acidic environment promotes enzyme function.

Notes on the user group:

• GluteoStop® is intended for the general adult population in EU.
• There is currently no study data on the enzyme contained in children.

Pregnancy

All components of GluteoStop® are considered food and are suitable as dietary supplements as part of a gluten-free diet.According to current knowledge, there is no evidence against taking it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

However, since there are currently no studies specifically on GluteoStop® during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before taking it.
