Gelum® drops

Gelum® drops contain a complex that binds the digestive toxin ammonia during intestinal transit.Ammonia is produced as a byproduct of protein breakdown in the intestines.Since this is a cell toxin, the liver primarily converts it into urea so that it can be excreted by the kidneys.Gelum® drops relieve the burden on the liver by binding ammonia, so that it has more energy available for other metabolic processes.

Areas of application: Liver cirrhosis (chronic liver diseases) with minimal hepatic encephalopathy (brain dysfunction caused by inadequate detoxification function of the liver).

Application

Adults take 2 ml diluted with a little water 3 times a day before meals (e.g. fill up the measuring cup).You can then rinse with more liquid.Milk and hot liquids (coffee, tea) are unsuitable for dilution.

Notes

Do not use if you have a known allergy or intolerance to one or more components of the product.

There are medicines whose effects can be reduced by interactions with iron compounds.With these remedies you should leave a gap of around 2 hours between taking the Gelum® drops.

Keep this product out of the reach of children.

Side effects/accompanying symptoms

• In rare cases, slight discomfort in the gastrointestinal area may occur.
• It is possible that you may have a hypersensitive or allergic reaction to one of the components of any product you take.This can be noticeable, for example, in a skin rash, itching, swelling of mucous membranes or increased sweating.In such a very rare case you should stop using Gelum® drops.

If you notice any side effects that are not listed in these instructions for use, please report them to your therapist or pharmacist.

In the event of a significant overdose (e.g. entire bottle contents), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever may occur.If you suspect an overdose, please contact a doctor immediately.

If you forget one or more doses, please continue taking it according to the dosage instructions without taking the forgotten drops.

• A dark discoloration of the stool that occurs during the course of treatment is normal and is due to the iron content of Gelum® drops.
• In very rare cases, teeth or tongue may become dark after use.This iron deposit forms in the mouth and disappears after a short time with normal oral care.To prevent this discoloration, some liquid should be rinsed after each intake of Gelum® drops.
• The expiry date of this pack is printed on the outer carton and on the label.Please do not use this pack after this date!
• After opening the container, the contents should be consumed continuously.
• Storage should be at room temperature (between 15°C and 30°C).

Ingredients

100 g contains: 30.0 g of an aqueous solution of the potassium iron (III) phosphate citrate complex (KEPC), 3.0 g L(+)-lactic acid (dextrorotatory lactic acid), 0.1 g potassium sorbate.
