Field of use

  • The medicine is a combination of paracetamol, a pain relieving, fever -lowering medicine (analgesic/antipyretic), and caffeine.
  • It is used for symptomatic treatment of light to moderately severe pain.

Contradictions

  • The medicine must not be taken
    • if you are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine or one of the other components of this medicine
    • of children under the age of 12 or users below 43 kg

dosage

  • Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Dosage
    • This medicine should be used in the lowest pain -controlling dose over the shortest possible period.
    • The dosage is based on the following information. The specified number of tablets only applies to patients who do not receive any other paracetamol-containing medicines.
    • This drug is dosed depending on body weight and age, usually with 10 to 15 mg/kg body weight as a single dose up to a maximum of 8 tablets per day (corresponding to 3200 mg paracetamol and 400 mg caffeine as a total daily dose).
    • The maximum daily dose must not be exceeded.
    • The respective dosage interval depends on the symptoms and the maximum total daily dose. The time interval between two applications must be at least 6 hours.
    • Do not take the preparation without a medical or dental advice for more than 3 days.
    • Body weight from 43 kg children and adolescents from 12 years and adults
      • Single dose: 1 - 2 tablets (corresponding to 400 - 800 mg paracetamol and 50 - 100 mg caffeine)
      • Maximum daily dose (24 hours): up to 8 tablets (corresponding to 3200 mg paracetamol and 400 mg caffeine)
    • Liver dysfunction and easy restriction of kidney function
      • In patients with liver or kidney dysfunction as well as Gilbert-Meulengracht syndrome, the dose must be reduced or the distance between the individual doses must be extended. A daily overall dose of 4 tablets (1600 mg paracetamol and 200 mg caffeine) may not be exceeded without medical instruction.
    • Medium -heavy to severe restriction of kidney function
      • Unless otherwise prescribed, a reduction in the dose is recommended in patients with kidney dysfunction.
      • The distance between the individual doses must be at least 6 hours.
      • In the case of severe kidney dysfunction (creatinine clearance < 10 ml/min), the distance between the individual doses must be at least 8 hours.
      • Adult
        • glomerular filtration rate 10 - 50 ml/min
          • a maximum of 1 tablet* every 6 hours
        • glomerular filtration rate < 10ml/min
          • a maximum of 1 tablet* every 8 hours
      • * corresponds to 400 mg paracetamol and 50 mg caffeine
    • Older patients
      • Experience has shown that no special dose adjustment is required. However, in weakened, immobilized older patients with limited liver or Kidney function a reduction in the dose or extension of the dosage interval.
      • Without medical instructions, the daily total dose of 4 tablets (corresponding to 1600 mg paracetamol and 200 mg caffeine) should not be exceeded if they
        • weigh less than 50 kg
        • suffer from chronic alcoholism
        • are affected by water withdrawal (dehydration)
        • are chronically malnourished
    • Children under the age of 12 (under 43 kg)
      • The medicine must not be used in children under the age of 12 or below 43 kg body weight.

 

  • If you have taken a larger amount than you should
    • With an overdose of paracetamol, complaints generally occur within 24 hours that include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pallor and abdominal pain. There can also be severe liver damage.
    • In the event of an overdose with caffeine, central nervous symptoms such as restlessness, excitation, tremors and cardiovascular reactions (e.g. racing heart, pain in the heart area) can occur.
    • Please inform the next accessible doctor immediately if you have taken a larger amount!

 

  • If you have forgotten the intake
    • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.

Taking

  • Take the tablets unscrewed with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water). Taking it after meals can lead to a delayed occurrence.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

Patient information

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • In order to prevent the risk of overdose, it should be ensured that other medicines that are used at the same time do not contain paracetamol or caffeine.
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine
      • if you suffer from the impairment of the liver function (e.g. through liver inflammation, Gilbert-Meulengracht-Syndrome)
      • if you are chronically alcoholic
      • for kidney dysfunction (e.g. pre -damaged kidney)
      • when the use of medicines that affect the liver function
      • in the event of an inherited lack of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, which can lead to severe anemia, also called favism
      • in hemolytic anemia (anemia due to a decay of the red blood cells)
      • in the event of a deficiency of the protein glutathione involved in the liver metabolism (e.g. in the event of malnutrition, alcohol abuse)
      • in the event of a lack of liquid in the body (dehydration), e.g. B. due to small amount of drinking, diarrhea or vomiting
      • in chronic malnutrition
      • with a body weight of less than 50 kg
      • in higher age
      • for cardiac arrhythmias
      • in the case of thyroid overactive
      • in the case of pathological anxiety
      • if you suffer from a stomach or intestinal ulcer
    • Your doctor will then decide whether you may only take the preparation with special caution, in reduced dosage (e.g. max. 2 tablets due to the coffin content) or under medical check.
    • Do not take the drug without medical advice for more than 3 days or in higher doses.
    • A crossing of the recommended dose, which also means the once taking the total daily dose, can lead to severe liver damage. In such a case, medical help should be consulted immediately.
    • If painkillers are not dosed for a long time, headaches can occur, which may not be treated by increased doses of the drug. Ask your doctor for advice if you often suffer from headache despite taking it!
    • If there is a long -dosed, non -determined use of painkillers headaches and fatigue, muscle pain, nervousness and vegetative symptoms can occur. This deductible symptoms subside within a few days. Until then, the re -application of painkillers should be avoided and the use of the use is not carried out again without medical advice.
    • The habitual use of painkillers, especially when combining several pain relievers, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure (analgesics nephropathy).
    • Due to the fever -lowering effect, an improvement in the disease can be faked. If necessary, medical advice must be obtained.

 

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • The preparation has no or a negligible influence on the traffic and operating machines. Nevertheless, caution is always required after taking a pain reliever.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
  • Pregnancy
    • The drug should not be taken during pregnancy because of the caffeine content, since pregnancy and/or the development of the unborn child can be affected. If necessary, you should therefore only take the preparation of pregnancy after consultation with your doctor and after strict weighing up the benefit risk ratio.
  • Breastfeeding
    • Paracetamol and caffeine, the active ingredients of the drug, pass into breast milk. A disadvantageous consequences of paracetamol for the infant have not yet become known. The condition and behavior of the infant can be affected by caffeine recorded with breast milk. With short -term application or Accepting the recommended dose will generally not be necessary to interrupt breastfeeding. If you use or take higher doses for a long time, you should stop.

Miscellaneous

- The drug is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
- Without a medical regulation, the medicine should only be taken to remedy acute pain.
- It is proven that regular intake of pain relievers from the group to which paracetamol also belongs, can lead to damage to the kidney function for months and years that may require lifelong blood wash.
- The same effects are not known for caffeine. In combination paracetamol and caffeine, an additional risk of kidney damage is not taken.
- If painkillers are not intended for a long time, headaches can occur, which may not be treated by increased amounts of the drug.
- If the use of pain relievers suddenly, headaches as well as tiredness, muscle pain, nervousness and other physical complaints can occur after a long time. These symptoms subside within a few days. Until then, painkillers will be reinforced and re -taking it again should take place without medical advice.
- There is no indication that possible dependence on pain relievers such as paracetamol is increased by caffeine. Even if it can be assumed on the basis of considerations, an independent dependence on caffeine in combination with paracetamol is not proven due to the current experience.
