Field of use

• The preparation is a medicine to treat fungal infections of the vagina. The active ingredient clotrimazole inhibits growth and the increase in mushroom cells such as: B. Sprospilzen (yeasts) as well as a number of other mushrooms and some bacteria.
• The vaginal cream is used:
  • In the event of infectious discharge, caused by yeast mushrooms; Inflammation of the vagina by mushrooms - mostly yeast mushrooms of the genus Candida - as well as overlapping infections (super infections) with clotrimazole -sensitive bacteria.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to clotrimazole or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described or according to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • On 3 consecutive days, you should insert 1 application fulfillment (approx. 5 g) once a day - in the evening - as described below.

• Duration of the application
  • Treatment on three consecutive days is usually sufficient to eliminate a fungal infection. If necessary, however, a second treatment cycle can be connected.
  • In general, the signs of vaginal inflammation caused by fungi (such as itching, discharge, burning) decrease significantly within the first four days after the start of the treatment. If there is no significant improvement in the symptoms after 4 days, please contact your doctor.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the vaginal cream is too strong or too weak.

• If you have forgotten the application
  • If you have forgotten the application in the evening, you can make up for the application in the course of the following morning. Next time, do not apply a larger amount of the vaginal cream, but continue the treatment as recommended.

• If you cancel the application
  • In order to achieve a complete healing of the infection and prevent a relapse, you should not end or interrupt the treatment prematurely without consulting your doctor. If you do this anyway, there is a fear of returning the symptoms, since your fungal infection is probably not yet properly healed. You should therefore not cancel the treatment after the complaints have subsided, but continue consistently over 3 days.

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

  • 4. A new one-time applicator must be used for each application, which is then thrown away.
• The treatment should not be carried out during menstruation or should be completed before the start.

Patient information

• Special care in the application is required
  • In the following it is described when you can only use the medicine under certain conditions and only with special caution.
  • In the case of fever (temperatures of 38 ° C and above), abdominal pain, back pain, poorly smelling vaginal discharge, nausea, vaginal bleeding and/or connected with shoulder pain, you should consult a doctor.
  • Please ask your doctor,
    • when the disease occurs for the first time;
    • if you have had more than four such fungal infections over the past 12 months.
  • Notice
    • If used with latex products (e.g. condoms, diaphragms), the auxiliary substances (in particular stearates) can be reduced to reduce functionality and thus to impair the safety of these products. The effect is temporary and only occurs during treatment.
      

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • The vaginal cream has no or a negligible influence on the ability to drive and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• Please ask your doctor for advice before using the vaginal cream if you are pregnant or breastfeed.
• You can use the vaginal cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but only after the instruction of a doctor.
• Reproductive ability
  • Studies on the influence of clotrimazole on the fertility (fertility) of humans are not available.
