Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo 500mg/1000 international units (package size: 120 pc) are chewing tablets that contain calcium and vitamin D3 - two important substances for bone structure (at Bone density and bone loss).
The medicine is taken:

• to prevent and treat a calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people
• as a supplement to the support of specific osteoporos therapy for patients in whom there is a risk of vitamin D and calcium deficiency.

Mode of action

Calcium is an important mineral that forms hard tissue in the body. This makes it essential for the development and growth of bones and teeth. With the additional vitamin D included, calcium intake increases and the storage increases.

Active ingredients:
Calcium and Colecalciferol (vitamin D3)
A chewing tablet contains 1,250 mg calcium carbonate (corresponding to 500 mg calcium) and 10.0 mg Colecalciferol dry concentrate (powder form) (corresponding to 25 micrograms Colecalciferol = 1,000 I.E. Vita min D3).

Other ingredients:
Isomalt (E 953), Xylitol, Sorbitol (Ph. EUR.) (E 420), citronic acid, sodium dihydrogencitrat, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) [pflanzlich], Carmellose-Natrium (Ph.Eur.), Orange aroma "CPB" and orange aroma "CVT", Aspartam (E 951), Acesulfam -Scalium, sodium ascorbate, all-rac-tocopherol, strength, modifi adorned (corn), sucrose (sugar), medium-chain triglycerides, high disperse silicon dioxide and silicon dioxide hydrate

Contradictions

CalciumSandoz d osteo 500mg/1000 international units (pack size: 120 pc) must not be taken,

• if you are hypersensitive to calcium, vitamin D or one of the other components
• if you have too high calcium content in the blood or urine
• if you have calcium -containing kidney stones
• when the function of your kidneys is disturbed
• if the vitamin D content of your blood is too high.

dosage

Take Calcium-Sandoz D Osteo 500mg/1000 international units (pack size: 120 pc) always followed exactly according to the instruction.

The recommended dose is:
Adults and older people take 1 chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 1,000 i.E. [Internationale Einheiten] vitamin D3).
The tablet must be chewed before it is swallowed. It can be taken at any time regardless of meals.

Overdose:
In the case of overdose, hypervitaminosis, hypercalcemia with muscle weakness and increased thirst, pathologically increased urine excretion, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea and vomiting can occur. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.

Taking

The tablet must be zerbe chewed before it is swallowed.

It can be taken regardless of meals and at any time of the day.

Patient information

Calcium-Sandoz D osteo contains aspartam, sorbitol, isomalt and sucrose. Aspartam is a source for phenylalanine and can be harmful if you have a phenylketonuria.

During pregnancy, the daily dose of calcium should not be higher than 1,500 mg and the daily dose of vitamin D3 not higher than 600 i.E. Long -term overdoses of calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy must be avoided, as this can lead to high calcium levels in the blood and have negative effects on the unborn child.

Calcium-Sandoz D osteo can be used during breastfeeding. Since calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk, first consult with your doctor whether your child is already taking vitamin D-containing preparations.
