Field of use

Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) you can take to treat metabolic acidosis in chronic renal failure and renal tubular acidosis.
Since Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pcs) intervene in your bloodstream, you should consult your doctor beforehand.

Mode of action

The bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) are gastric -resistant tablets that are provided with sodium hydrogen carbonate and belong to the group of acidos therapy (against acids).
Sodium hydrogen carbonate in Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) is a salt, the essential pharmacological properties of which result from its physiological role as part of the HCO3/CO2 buffer. Sodium hydrogen carbonate leads to an increase in the pH value in the organism and it has an impact on acidification of the blood.
Your acid-base balance in the blood is compensated for by bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) and your pH value can normalize.

1 Tablet of Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) contains:

1 000 mg sodium hydrogen carbonate (corresponding to 11.9 mmol NA+ and 11.9 mmol HCO3-)

other ingredients:
Poly- (O-Carboxymethyl) starch, sodium salt, microcrystalline cellulose, copovidone, potato starch, high-disperses silicon dioxide, calcium cosanoat, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogrol 6000, talcal (1: 1) (Ph. EUR) sodium hydroxide

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients mentioned above, the product should not be used.
Do not include the above product: alkalosis, humiliated potassium values in the blood (hypocalaemia), and not with low -sodium diet.

dosage

Application recommendation of Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc):

Take the bicanorm (pack size: 100 pcs) Please ink with a little liquid (e.g. a glass of water) with meals. Basically, a distance of 1 to 2 hours between taking bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) and other medication should be observed.
You can take 1 to 2 tablets 2 times a day (2 to 4 tablets a maximum of daily). The desired pH value in the urine is achieved by an appropriate dose adjustment.
Bicanorm (package size: 100 pc) should not be taken uncontrollably over a longer period of time due to the risk of hydration and the development of alkalosis (basic blood value). At least if used for a long time, controls of the kidney function, the urine PH value and possibly the blood gases should be carried out.
The duration of the usage will be decided by the medicating doctor.

Taking

• The tablets should be taken over the day in several doses. They are swallowed with some fluid (e.g. water).
• Due to the risk of developing hyperaemia and metabolic alkalosis, sodium hydrogen carbonate should not be taken over a longer period of time without medical monitoring.

  • The medicine should be taken with caution at
    • restricted breathing (hypoventilation),
    • dilated calcium level in the blood (hypocalca) or
    • increased salt content of the blood (hyperosmolar disorder).
  • Further precautions by your doctor:
    • The effect should be checked every week by your doctor (e.g. B. by determining pH value, standard bicarbonate, alkali reserve), especially at the beginning of the housingdation and when changing from a non-stomach-resistant sodium hydrogen carbonate-containing tablet to gastric ju-resistant tablet and in the event of administration of higher doses. Likewise, the plasma electrolytes, especially sodium, potassium and calcium, should be regularly checked by your doctor.
    • Regular laboratory examinations should be carried out during long -term treatment. Excessive alkalization can be corrected by a reduction in dose.
  • Children and adolescents under the age of 14:
    • The security and effectiveness of children under the age of 14 have not yet been examined. There is no data for this age group. Therefore, the drug should not be used in this age group.

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • The medicine has no or a negligible influence on the roadworthiness and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • So far there are no or only very limited experiences with the use of sodium hydrogen carbonate in high doses in pregnant women. Experience with low -dosed sodium hydrogen carbonate indicates a risk of fluid retention and possibly high blood pressure if used for longer. Data from animal studies do not indicate a malformation risk.
  • The drug should only be taken with caution during pregnancy and only if your doctor considers this absolutely necessary.
• Breastfeeding
  • Sodium hydrogen carbonate is excreted in breast milk. With low doses and short -term use, no effects on the newborn are known. High cans and long -term use during breastfeeding are not recommended. Ask your doctor for advice before you breastfeed.

Hints

A stomach -resistant tablet contains approx. 11.9 mmol (273 mg) sodium. If you have to adhere to a salt arm diet, you should take this into account.
Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. Bicanorm (pack size: 100 pc) should be kept outside the range of children. The daily recommended consumption should not be exceeded.
