Autan Defense^® Extreme Protection Pump Spray mosquito repellent

The Autan Defense^® Extreme Protection Pump Spray was specially developed for use in mosquito-infested areas and offers up to 10H protection against mosquitoes that can transmit malaria, dengue fever, Zika or yellow fever. It also protects against ticks for up to 5 hours. For certain tropical tick species, the period of protection may be shorter. The product is ideal for tropical travel and areas with extreme mosquito infestation.

The active substance DEET
DEET is an active ingredient recommended by WHO to protect the skin from bites by mosquitoes, tiger mosquitoes and ticks. Spraying the mosquito repellent on the skin blocks the scent receptors of mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes, preventing them from sensing human scents and preventing them from landing on the skin and biting. DEET has been a proven active ingredient in protecting against infectious diseases caused by insect bites for over 50 years. As the active ingredient that has been researched for the longest time, it is considered the gold standard for mosquito protection in tropical areas and in cases of extreme mosquito infestation.

Application:
Use the product sparingly and carefully on the uncovered parts of the body. If the product is used at the same time as sunscreen, apply the sunscreen first, wait 30 minutes and then apply the product. To protect face from insect bites, first spray a small amount of product onto palms of hands and then spread onto face. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mucous membranes, lips and broken skin. Do not use on children under 18 years of age. Do not use more than once a day. Do not use the product in areas of the joints such as the back of the knee or the crook of the arm where skin folds occur. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating or drinking. The use of the product is not recommended for sensitive people such as pregnant and breastfeeding women. Wash the treated body parts when the protection is no longer needed or when side effects occur. Do not breathe vapors. Avoid contact with plastics (e.g. glasses), synthetic and leather clothing and painted surfaces.

What are mosquitoes attracted to?
Mosquitoes are attracted by body heat, breath and sweat, among other things. Because dark clothing retains heat, it attracts mosquitoes more than light-colored clothing. Differences in the composition of sweat and breath can make some people more or less likely to attract mosquitoes than others. For effective protection against mosquitoes and ticks, the correct use of mosquito repellent is important.

When are you most likely to get bitten?
Most mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk.
