Application

The soft paste should be applied to the affected skin areas 3-4 times a day.

Duration of application:

• The duration of therapy for diaper rash or Candida infestation of skin folds is a minimum of 1 week, an average of 2-4 weeks, or longer if necessary.
• Treatment should continue for a few days after complete healing.

Area of application

Nystatin Holsten Softpaste is used for:

• Fungal infections, especially yeast infections, that are accompanied by inflammation, such as:
• Fungal skin infections
• Fungal infections of the mucous membranes
• Fungal infections in the folds of the body, e.g. soreness under the breasts, on the buttocks, between the thighs
• Fungal infections between the toes or fingers
• Soreness caused by mechanical stimuli (skin soreness), such as friction
• Inflammation in the genital and anal areas, such as
  • Diaper rash (skin inflammation under a diaper)

Mode of action

How do the ingredients of Nystatin Holsten Softpastework:

Nystatin: The active ingredient damages the outer shell, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi.This shell therefore loses some of its functions, cell components escape and the cell can dissolve.Depending on the active ingredient concentration, the growth and reproduction of the fungi is inhibited or killed directly.

Zinc oxide: Zinc oxide acts on the skin against pathogens and inflammation and promotes wound healing.In addition, the moisture is bound to the skin (e.g. in weeping, moist areas of skin in the folds of the body), which reduces further softening and the possible penetration of pathogens.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Nystatin Holsten Softpaste:

All ages
Single/total dose: a sufficient amount / 3-4 times daily
Timing: spread throughout the day

Apply the medicine to the affected skin area(s).

The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease.General treatment duration: 2-4 weeks

Intake

• The medicine should be applied to the affected skin areas 3-4 times a day.

Patient information

• Particular care is required when using it
  • Children/premature babies
    • Due to the high osmolarity of nystatin, its use in very underweight and immature premature infants is not recommended.
  • Elderly people
    • No restriction
  • When treating the genital or anal area, the simultaneous use of condoms can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of condoms.

 

• Ability to drive and use machines
  • No special precautions are required.

Pregnancy

• There are no adequate data regarding use in pregnancy.The soft paste should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after carefully weighing the benefits and risks. Large-area application and use on the breastfeeding breast should be avoided.

Notes

Be careful if you are allergic to fungal agents (e.g. amphotericin B, nystatin)

Nystatin Holsten Softpaste should be kept out of the reach of children.

The daily recommended consumption amount should not be exceeded.

The medicine may be used for a maximum of 3 months after opening/preparation!
