Description:
Lavanid 1 and Lavanid 2 are sterile, isotonic wound irrigation solutions based on Ringer's solution with 0.02% and 0.04% polyhexanide, respectively, for preservation.Polyhexanide prevents the growth of microorganisms in wound dressings and in the solution.
Composition:
Ringer's solution (isotonic electrolyte solution consisting of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride 2 H2O, water for injections), macrogol, polyhexanide 0.02% (Lavanid 1) or polyhexanide 0.04% (Lavanid 2).

Interactions with other agents:
Due to incompatibility problems with the ingredient polyhexanide, Lavanid must not be used in combination with anionic substances (e.g. anionic surfactants or anionic gelling agents).Preoperative, superficial skin disinfection with PVP-iodine preparations and subsequent intraoperative rinsing with Lavanide is possible.Direct contact of PVP-iodine preparations with Lavanide irrigation in the same wound area should be avoided.
Dosage instructions, type and duration of application:
For wound irrigation during surgical procedures as well as during diagnostic and therapeutic measures that require irrigation or moisturization.
Notes and information on shelf life:
The expiry date is indicated on the label.Do not use after the expiry date!Shelf life after opening: 2 months.
Disposal instructions:
Disposal of unused products or waste material must be carried out in accordance with specific national regulations.

Description:

Contraindications:
Lavanid must not be used:
- in the entire area of ZNS (including the meninges).
- in the area of cartilage and joints.
- in the middle&ndash%%% or inner ear.
- intraperitoneally.
- if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions for use and warnings:
- Only use clear solutions!
- Do not mix with additives.
- Do not resterilize!Critical change in usability possible.
- The stopper closure enables the rinsing solution to be removed aseptically, e.g. using a spike.Alternatively, the screw cap can be removed to pour out the solution.
