The mixed dentition consists of milk teeth and permanent teeth with different dental care requirements.The Junior Karex toothpaste relies on the biomimetic active ingredient BioHAP*. This is the stuff our teeth are made of.Approximately 97% of our tooth enamel and approximately 70% of our dentin are made of hydroxyapatite.

BioHAP*: The calcium source for strong teeth

Dental plaque and acidic foods remove calcium from the tooth enamel.This is called demineralization.Junior Karex contains a high proportion of the active ingredient BioHAP* as well as two other calcium sources for extra protection. If the pH value on the tooth surface falls into the critical range, BioHAP* releases calcium, which is then deposited back into the tooth enamel.The deposition of calcium in the tooth is called remineralization.

BioHAP*: Tooth decay protection even with fixed braces

Due to its high degree of consistency with the natural tooth mineral , BioHAP* even remineralizes deeper layers of tooth enamel and thus improves caries protection.This can also help children and young people with fixed braces to avoid the so-called white spots, an early form of tooth decay.Due to orthodontic appliances, it is often difficult to completely remove plaque.Scientific studies show: During acid attacks, BioHAP* releases calcium, which promotes remineralization and buffers acid attacks.This leads to effective caries protection.
