INSTYLAN 0.16% Rinse solution

Sterile solution based on hyaluronic acid for intravesical irrigation.

INSTYLAN is a sterile, transparent, colorless viscous solution based on hyaluronic acid with a physiological pH value.Hyaluronic acid is not of animal origin. INSTYLAN is a viscoelastic agent used to protect the intercellular layer of the bladder and urethra.

Areas of application:

Defects in the glycosaminoglycan layer (GAG) and restoration of the protective layer of the bladder mucosa after invasive procedures (e.g. cystoscopy, transurethral resection [TUR] of the prostate, ureteroscopy)
Recurrent/recurrent bacterial cystitis
Interstitial cystitis
Painful Bladder Syndrome
Hemorrhagic cystitis
Actinic cystitis (radiation cystitis)
Chemotherapy-induced cystitis

Mode of action

Hyaluronic acid is contained in all tissues.It is an important component of the intercellular matrix and is therefore also an essential part of the glycosaminoglycan layer of the urothelium of the bladder and urethra.When instilled into the bladder, hyaluronic acid forms a natural, viscoelastic protective film over the surface of the urothelium and thus protects the inner wall of the bladder from irritating and harmful substances.

Application

Follow the instructions for use.

Bladder irrigation should only be performed by professionals with appropriate experience and medical training to ensure compliance with catheterization standards.

INSTYLAN is intended exclusively for instillation into the bladder.

INSTYLAN is intended for intravesical administration once a week.The weekly instillation can be carried out 4 to 12 times.

The bladder must be emptied before using INSTYLAN . INSTYLAN is instilled into the bladder using a urological catheter.Carefully follow the instructions in the standard protocol for urinary catheter management when carrying out the individual steps.After administration of the solution, the catheter is removed.The solution can remain in the blister for between 30 minutes and 2 hours.The bladder should then be emptied physiologically.Before use, the plastic bag containing the solution should be warmed to body temperature to reduce discomfort for the patient.Heating should only be done using dry heat (e.g. heating mat or heating plate).The solution should not be heated in water due to the increased risk of contamination.To prevent possible damage to the polymer bag and patient harm or discomfort, the solution should not be heated in the microwave.

The rules of aseptic work should be strictly adhered to throughout the entire treatment.

Instructions:

Check the integrity of the outer packaging, the expiry date and the volume of the product.
Open the plastic bag to remove the product.
Check the integrity of the product.
Read the instructions for use.
Remove the orange cap from the Luer Lock connector on the product.
Connect the product to the urinary catheter using the Luer lock connector.
Break the red pin of the Luer lock connector by bending it so that the fluid can enter the urinary catheter.
Squeeze the bag of solution to instill all of the liquid into the bladder.
Carry out the procedure and carry out continuous visual inspection.

Notes

Contraindications:

Do not use the product in patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or known allergic reactions to any of the product ingredients.
Do not use the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Do not use the product on children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Side effects: hypersensitivity reactions.In rare cases: irritable bladder, bladder spasms, dysuria, pain, diarrhea, dizziness.If side effects occur, treatment with the medical product should be discontinued.Inform a doctor and the manufacturer.

The product must not be administered orally.
Do not use the solution if it is not transparent and colorless.
The product must be used immediately after opening.
The product is intended for single use only.
Do not re-sterilize.Repeated sterilization can lead to cross-contamination.
Do not use if package is opened or damaged.
Do not use after the expiry date.

Shelf life: Two years with intact packaging

Storage: Protected from light at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C.Do not freeze.Keep out of the reach of children.

Thanks to Instylan, I stopped taking an anticholinergic long-term.This is now my fourth cycle with Instylan (6 doses each) and the check-up showed significantly improved bladder mucosa.I hope that I can finally say goodbye to bladder infections.
