epiivo® - relieve itching with thermotherapy

epiivo® is a medical product for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic itching.

The device applies short, concentrated heat to a narrow area of skin.The optimal temperature of heat input between 47 °C and 49 °C activates receptors in the skin.As a result, only the thermal stimulus is transmitted - the signaling pathway for itching, however, is blocked.The effect: Immediately after treatment, the itching subsides and relief can begin.

Application

Depending on the therapy needs, you can choose between two temperature levels (approx. 47 °C or approx. 49 °C).

Place a skin-friendly ceramic contact surface on the affected skin area and press the push button.

The treatment duration is 5 seconds.

• Mucous membranes
• open wounds, broken skin (e.g. open blisters)
• Scalding or burning of the skin
• Sunburn (dermatitis solaris)
• Frostbite of the skin
• Tumors and malignant changes in the skin
• known increased algesia (increased sensation of pain) in small fiber neuropathy, allodynia, hyperalgesia
• People with known reduced pain and temperature sensitivity
• immediately after applying ointments, creams, lotions, etc. to the affected area
• anaphylactic reaction

Area of application

Epiivo is used for the treatment of pruritus in acute and chronic pruritus.

Mode of action

Thanks to the thermotherapeutic process, concentrated heat is applied locally to the itchy area of skin.As a result, the skin receptors are activated and heat stimuli are transmitted.This blocks the signaling pathway for itching and relief can occur. Epiivo has a chemical-free effect and is therefore ideal for allergy sufferers, pregnant women and children (not suitable for children under 3 years of age, self-use for children aged 12 and over).

Dosage

Recommended use of Epiivo:

Depending on your own therapy needs, you can select one of the two temperature levels using the temperature selector switch under the cap:
1st level 47°C (delivery condition)
2nd stage approx. 49°C

Then align the device with the ceramic contact surface centrally on the affected area of skin and press it lightly.Please make sure that the entire ceramic contact surface comes into contact with the skin.

After you have pressed the push button, the heating phase begins, during which the ceramic contact surface warms up to the selected treatment temperature.Once this temperature is reached, the treatment time of 5 seconds begins.During this phase the status LED lights up.After the treatment, the device switches off automatically.An acoustic signal sounds at the beginning of the heating phase and at the end of the treatment.Please keep the Epiivo in one place as still as possible during heating and treatment.

Then remove it from the treated skin area.

Please note that the success of the treatment can depend on the individual. If you only achieve insufficient relief from itching when treating at level 1 at approx. 47 °C, we recommend It may be necessary to continue treatment at level 2 with approx. 49 °C.Please note the package leaflet.
