Chlorhexidine has broad antimicrobial activity against various microorganisms, such as bacteria, skin fungi and yeasts.Chlorhexidine is particularly suitable for skin and mucous membrane disinfection due to its good adhesive properties.Chlorhexidine comes from e.g.B. used in wound care and oral hygiene.

Chlorhexidine powder - the silent helper in care

Chlorhexidine powder has proven to be a particularly important care product in infant care.Midwives swear by using the powder to gently support the healing process of the navel.But chlorhexidine powder has also found its place in the care of sick and elderly people.

Chlorhexidine powder binds and regulates skin moisture in skin regions at risk of infection.Due to its high surface area as a powder, an exceptionally high moisture absorption is possible.This is particularly important because moisture is always a good breeding ground for germs, especially in areas of the skin that are at risk of infection.The less moisture an area of skin has, the harder it is for germs to grow and the wound healing is promoted.At the same time, chlorhexidine powder reduces friction between moist skin areas thanks to its special gliding properties, which makes it a suitable companion in care.Complaints such as itching, burning and pain on the skin are alleviated and the development of new inflammations is prevented.

The areas of application of chlorhexidine powder are diverse:

• Care and protection of uninjured skin and wound edge regions that are at risk of infection
• The uninjured umbilical region of newborns
• Skin regions at risk of infection (such as the armpit, groin area)
• Genital and anal areas
• Obesity-related skin wrinkles

Chlorhexidine powder is a proven product for supportive wound care that should be available in your medicine cabinet.The product is suitable for professional care of the sick, disabled and senior citizens as well as for domestic use.

Application

The affected skin areas are powdered evenly with chlorhexidine powder several times a day by the user (patient or carer).

Continuous use should not exceed 4 weeks.

Notes

Chlorhexidine powder must not be used on tissue with poor blood supply, on the eardrum, on the eye or in the area around the eye, in the case of allergies (especially if a hypersensitivity reaction to chlorhexidine has already occurred), in the case of skin wounds or ulcerations.

Large areas should not be used during pregnancy or lactation.

Side effects: Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (e.g. contact dermatitis, photosensitization) and rarely anaphylactic reactions can occur.

The product is intended exclusively for external use on intact skin and must not enter the body through ingestion, injection or infusion.

Countermeasure for accidental ingestion: The ingredient chlorhexidine is inactivated by sucrose and can be deactivated by polysorbate-80, insoluble magnesium, zinc and calcium salts.

Children should not be allowed access to this medical device.

Store safely!

When used on intact skin in wound edge regions, direct contact of the product with the wound should be avoided.When handling powders containing talc, excessive dusting and inhalation of the dust should be avoided as much as possible.

Chlorhexidine powder should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients.

Use with caution in newborns and especially in premature babies.Chlorhexidine powder can cause chemical burns to the skin.

Chlorhexidine powder should be stored in a dry place at room temperature (15-25 °C).Close the shaker container tightly again after use.

Used containers and outer boxes must be disposed of with household waste, preferably separately.Overstocked or used containers must be disposed of via the pharmacy.

Composition: Adipic acid, talc, zinc oxide, precipitated silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, 1% chlorhexidine digluconate (equivalent to 0.5% chlorhexidine) as a preservative
