Field of use

• The nystatin contained in this preparation specifically acts against infectious diseases with Candida Albicans and other mushrooms. Nystatin is bound to the cell membranes, inhibits growth and destroys the mushroom cells.
• The medicine is used to treat skin infections with nystatin -sensitive yeasts, in particular for the treatment of mycoses in the diaper area (diaper dermatitis).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to Nystatin or one of the other components of this drug.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Use ointment 2 - 3 times a day, in severe cases more often.

 

• Duration of the application
  • When treating yeast infections, all foci of infection on the skin and mucous membranes must be completely eliminated in order to avoid relapses.
  • After the disease has subsided, the application for the safety of the success of the treatment should be continued for another 8-10 days.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • If you accidentally applied the drug more often than intended, this usually has no adverse consequences. In this case, continue the application as described in the dosage introduction or was prescribed by your doctor.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application, but continue the application as stated or prescribed by your doctor.

    • Due to the high osmolarity of Nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised.

  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Nystatin, the active ingredient in this medicine, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dosage after oral administration over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes. The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The medicine can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

- In the case of fungal infections, all diseased areas must be treated to prevent renewed diseases that work from other mushroom herds.
- The treatment must be carried out long enough to prevent relapses (at least one week, an average of 2-4 weeks, even longer if necessary).
