Field of use

• For supportive treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage (caused by liver toxins).
• The medicine is not intended for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Contraindications

• You must not take the preparation if you are known to be hypersensitive to milk thistle fruits and/or other composite plants or any of the other ingredients.
• You must not take the product during pregnancy.

dosage

• The following information applies unless your doctor has prescribed otherwise. Please adhere to the instructions for use, otherwise this medicine will not work properly!
• Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take 1 hard capsule (milk thistle fruit extract equivalent to 250 mg silymarin) three times a day.

 

• How long should you take the product?
  • The treating doctor decides how long to take the medication. If the symptoms persist despite taking it, you should consult a doctor.

 

• What should you watch out for if the product is accidentally used in too large quantities (intentional or accidental overdose)?
  • No symptoms of poisoning have been observed so far.
  • In the event of an overdose, the side effects described can occur to an increased extent.
  • If you suspect an overdose, please contact your doctor.

 

• What should you pay attention to if you forget to take a dose?
  • If you have not taken enough or have forgotten to take it, do not take twice as much next time, but continue taking it as prescribed by your doctor or as described here.

Intake

• The hard capsules can be taken whole with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water).

• Drug therapy does not replace avoiding the causes that damage the liver (alcohol).
• If you have jaundice (light to dark yellow skin discoloration, yellowing of the whites of your eyes), you should see a doctor.

  • There are no sufficient studies available for use in children.
  • It should therefore not be used in children under 12 years of age.

 

• What do you have to pay attention to in traffic, when working with machines and when working without a secure footing?
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy:
  • You must not take the product during pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding:
  • The preparation should not be used during breastfeeding due to insufficient examinations.
