Field of use

• The medicine is a mushroom -killing agent against fungal infestation (antifungal).
• The medicine is used to treat yeast infections of the oral mucosa (oral soor).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you or the child to be treated are allergic to miconazole, related mushroom -killing medication or one of the other components of this medicine
  • if you or the child to be treated suffer from liver dysfunction
  • for infants under 4 months and children in whom the swallow reflex is not yet fully trained
  • if you or the child to be treated at the same time take medicinal products that are broken down by the body via a certain metabolism (via the enzyme cytochrome-p450-3a4):
    • certain medicines for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, e.g. B. pridil, doftilid, chinidine
    • certain medicines for allergies, e.g. B. Terfenadin, Astemizole, Mizolastin
    • the drug Cisaprid for the treatment of disorders in the digestive tract
    • certain medicines for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, e.g. B. Pimozid, Sertindol
    • the medicine halofantrin for the treatment of malaria
    • certain medicines for the treatment of migraines that contain so -called mother -grain alkaloids as an active ingredient
    • certain medicines for cholesterol reduction (HMG coareductase inhibitors, e.g. Simvastatin, Lovastatin)
    • certain sleeping and sedative (Triazolam and Midazolam to take)
  • if you or the child to be treated at the same time take medicinal products that are broken down by the body via a certain metabolism (via the enzyme cytochrome P450-2C9):
    • coagulant medicinal products for the treatment and/or prevention of thrombosis, embolism and heart attack (anticoagulants containing cumarin))

dosage

• Always apply the medicine as described or exactly according to your doctor or pharmacist. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose is
    • Infants and children: 4 - 24 months: 4 x a day 1 small measuring spoon (1ml gel)
    • Adults and children from 2 years: 4 x a day 1 large measuring spoon (2 ml gel)
  • Notice
    • The doses are only considered guidelines. Depending on the size of the oral cavity, z. B. a smaller amount in small infants or a larger amount in some adults to get the mucous membrane with it.

• Duration of the application
  • Treatment should continue at least one week beyond the disappearance of the symptoms.
  • If the signs of the oral building do not go back within the first 5 days after the start of treatment, you must see a doctor.

• If you have used a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • If you have applied too much mouth, there may be vomiting and diarrhea.

• If you have forgotten the application of the drug
  • Do not apply the double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• Gel for use in the oral cavity.
• Apply the medicine over the day 4 times after meals.
• Apply the mouth gel with a clean finger on the oral mucosa and distribute it evenly.
• If you use the mouth gel in infants and toddlers, then
  • apply the mouth gel in small individual portions.
  • put the gel in the front in the mouth and in no way in the throat so that it does not get into the airways.
• The gel should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible and then swallowed.
• When it comes to daily dental care, braces should also be brushed with the mouth.
• To treat yeast infections of the oral mucosa, dental prostheses should be removed at night and also brushed with the gel.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation. Avoid eye contact.
  • Special caution is required,
    • when the disease occurs for the first time
    • if such fungal infections have occurred several times over the past 12 months
    • if you or the child to be treated take additional medicines. If used at the same time, there is the possibility of drug interactions that can trigger symptoms.

  • Children and adolescents
    • It is important to consider the variability in maturation of the swallowing function of infants, especially if the mouth is given to infants between the ages of 4 and 6 months. In premature babies or in children with delayed neuromuscular development, the lower age limit should be increased to 5 to 6 months.
    • Aspiration in infants and toddlers
      • Caution is required, especially in infants and toddlers (4 months to 2 years) so that the gel does not close the neck. Therefore, the gel should not be used in the back of the throat. Each dose should be divided into small individual portions and applied with a clean finger in the mouth. Infants and toddlers should therefore also be observed after the application. Also because of the risk of suffocation, the gel should not be applied to the nipples of a breastfeeding woman for use in the infant.

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • the preparation has no or a negligible influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • If pregnancy is determined during the application, please notify your doctor.
  • The preparation should not be used in the first three months of pregnancy.
  • From the 4th month of pregnancy, the mouth gel should only be applied to the express instruction of the doctor.
• Breastfeeding
  • It is not known whether the active ingredient miconazole or its dismantling products pass into breast milk. It should therefore only be used during breastfeeding on the express instruction of the doctor.
