• The medicine is a calcium vitamin D3 preparation.
• It is used
  • for prophylaxis and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency states in older people

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or one of the other components of this medicine
  • with increased calcium blood levels (hypercalcemia)
  • with increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalcuria)
  • if you suffer from an overfunction of the parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism)
  • for bone marks cancer (myeloma)
  • if you suffer from cancer that radiates on your bones (bone metastases)
  • if the limbs (extended immobilization) are immobilized for a long time, accompanied by hypercalcemia and/or hypercalcuria
  • with kidney stones (nephrolithiasis)
  • for calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis)

dosage

• Dosage
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose is:
    • Adults and the elderly take 1 bags every day (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 1000 i.E. (international units) vitamin D3).

Taking

• The granules should be put directly on the tongue. The granulate loosens through the saliva in the mouth and can be swallowed. It can be taken at any time regardless of meals.
• Make sure that you absorb enough calcium with food (e.g. through dairy products, vegetables and mineral water).

  • During long -term therapy, the calcium levels in blood and urine and their kidney function must be monitored regularly. This is particularly important if you tend to form kidney stones. If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dose or interrupt the treatment, depending on your blood levels.
  • If they are treated with heart glycosides or thiazid diuretics (diuretic agents) at the same time due to heart problems, calcium levels in blood and urine and their kidney function must be monitored regularly.   • If you have kidney problems, you can only take the preparation with special caution. Your calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored. In serious kidney problems, take other forms of vitamin D instead of Colecalciferol.
  • Take additional calcium or vitamin D preparations only under medical control. A regular check of calcium levels in blood and urine by your doctor is required.
  • Only take the preparation with special caution if you suffer from sarcoidosis (a disease of the immune system that can affect your liver, lungs, skin or lymph nodes). There is a risk that this medicine is too effective and can lead to an overdose of calcium in the body. The calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored.
  • If your movement ability is restricted and you suffer from osteoporosis, this medicine must be used with special caution, since the calcium level can rise in your blood.
  • Before taking the preparation, the amount of calcium and alkali, such as. B. carbonates from other sources (food, enriched food or other medicines) are observed. When calcium -rich products at the same time as z. B. carbonates can be taken, this can lead to a milk alkali syndrome (Burnett syndrome). Milk-alkali syndrome is a calcium metabolism disorder with an increase in calcium level in the blood (hypercalcaemia), the ignorance of the blood (metabolic alkalosis), kidney failure and soft tissue calcification. Therefore, an additional administration of the preparation may only be carried out under strict medical control with regular checking of the calcium levels in blood and urine.
