Field of use

• The drug contains Magaldrate and belongs to the drug group of the Antacida, which is used to neutralize excess stomach acid.
• The medicine is used:
  • in heartburn and acid -related stomach complaints/ acid belching and reflux disease
  • for the symptomatic treatment of gastric and duodenum ulcers

Mode of action

Riopan stomach tablets (pack size: 100 pcs) binds excess stomach acid and buffert the gastrox into the physiological range of 3-5. Pain is alleviated without impairing important digestive functions. Riopan stomach tablets (pack size: 100 pc) is well tolerated and works directly at the destination, the esophagus and the stomach. The active ingredient Magaldrate is practically not absorbed, which results in a favorable side effect profile.

Contradictions

• The remedy for heartburn must not be taken:
  • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) against Magaldrate or one of the other components.
    

dosage

• Always take the heartburn medication exactly after instruction in this package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• How many tablets should I take every day?
  • Adults and children over 12 years:
    • the normal dose is 1-2 chewing tablets several times a day as required
    • do not take more than 8 chewing tablets (6400 mg Magaldrate) per day

• How long should I take this?
  • The medicine should only be taken to treat your symptoms for a short time.
  • If the symptoms remain below the treatment for more than 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.
  • Persistent and/or recurring complaints could be an indication of a serious illness. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice one of the following symptoms:
    • You have blood in the chair. This can look black and tar.
    • They vomit blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds.

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • If you have taken too many tablets, you should see your doctor for advice. When overdosing, there may be changes in stool behavior such as stool deviation and increase in the frequency of stool.

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • If you have forgotten the intake, just take your normal dose at the next time you take it.
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

• If you cancel the intake
  • If you interrupt the treatment with the medicine independently due to the occurrence of side effects, you should speak to your doctor.

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The chewing tablets are easy to chew and are then washed down with a little liquid or can also be sucked.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking it is required:
  • if you suffer from kidney problems or are subject to dialysis
  • if you are ill with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia
  • if you are subject to a phosphate diet
  • if your doctor has informed you that you will suffer from a disturbed bone metabolism
  • if you are under 12 years old.
• Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking one of the illnesses mentioned.
• When it comes to continuing or returning symptoms:
  • If the symptoms remain for more than 2 weeks, you should see your doctor for advice.
  • Persistent and/or recurring complaints could be an indication of a serious illness. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice one of the following symptoms:
    • You have blood in the chair. This can look black and tar.
    • They vomit blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds.

• Wateriness and operating machines:
  • The drug has a negligible or no influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• The benefit-risk ratio should be carefully weighed up during pregnancy before taking aluminum-containing drugs containing aluminum for binding excess stomach acid. If you are pregnant, you should only use the drug (the active ingredient contains aluminum) in the short term to avoid an aluminum burden of your unborn child.
• Aluminum compounds pass into breast milk. A risk for the newborn cannot be assumed because only very small quantities are recorded.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.

Miscellaneous

-In the case of stomach or duodenal ulcers, an examination on certain bacteria (Helicobacter pylori) - and in the event of evidence - should be considered a recognized treatment for the destruction of these bacteria, since the ulcers usually heal when combating.
-In the case of kidney dysfunction and with long-term use of high doses, aluminum storage can occur primarily into the nerve and bone tissue and phosphate raving.
-Even with kidney -healthy, slightly increased blood levels from aluminum were occasionally found.
-The aluminum blood level should be checked regularly with long-term use.
-In the case of long -lasting and/or more frequent intervals, a serious disease such as an ulcer or cancer should be excluded.
