Application areas

Mode of action

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The ingredient capsaicin comes from the plant cayenne pepper. To the plant itself:
- Appearance: one -year -old, approximately knee -high plant with pointed, oval leaves on long stems on a bald, somewhat sparingly branched sprout. The small star -shaped flowers are white, elongated and usually stand individually.
- Occurrence: Central America, cultivated today in all warmer countries
- Used plant parts and preparations: extracts, tinctures and ointments from the dried fruit with seeds
If you apply capsaicin on the skin, a pain -mediating messenger (substance P) is released from memory bubbles. As a result, burning pain and thermal feelings initially occur. However, since practically the entire available amount of substance P is used in one fell swoop and the body takes some time to form supplies, you are more insensitive to pain in the treated area for this time. In addition, Capsaicin stimulates blood circulation by expanding the smallest blood vessels in the skin. The developing heat leads to a loosening of painfully tense muscles.

After an inflammation in the bursa area on the ulna/right arm, I applied this ointment for 2 days and the pain went away very quickly. At night my arm burned like a light sunburn, but the pain-relieving effect was great. Please do not apply near mucous membranes, such as on the head and genital areas. After 2 days of rubbing it is advisable to take a 2 week break, everything is stated on the package insert.
