How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient has a pain -relieving and anti -inflammatory effect. This is due to the fact that it blocks the formation of certain messenger substances, so -called prostaglandins, in the body, which are significantly involved in the development of pain and inflammation. In addition, it can soften the upper layer of horns of the skin on the outside.

What speaks against an application?

Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients

Under certain circumstances - speak to your doctor or pharmacist:
- Restricted liver function
- Limited kidney function
- Extended inflammation or eczema at the location

Which age group must be observed?
- Children under the age of 12: The drug must not be used.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: The medicine should not be used according to current knowledge.
- Breastfeeding: The medicine should not be applied to the chest.

If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.

Side effects

What adverse effects may occur?

- Super sensitivity reactions of the skin, such as:
- Skin irritation
- Itching
- Burn on the skin
- Drying out the skin
- Tension at the location

If you notice a disorder or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Hints

What should you consider?
- Solvent (e.g. propylene glycol, E 477) can cause skin irritation.
- There can be medicinal products with which interactions occur. Therefore, you should generally provide the doctor or pharmacist before treatment with a new medicine. This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only apply occasionally or that the application has been available for some time.

Field of use

• The medicine is a scale proceedsof and anti -inflammatory scalp.
• The medicine is used for the initial treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis of the scalp.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used
  • if you are hypersensitive to salicylic acid, other salicylates, propylene glycol or one of the other components.
  • if you have a limited kidney function (patients with restricted kidney function must use a medicine with a lower proportion of the drug's effective component) or if you have a liver function disorder.
  • if you have an unstable and inflammatory or acute form of psoriasis, the skin is sensitive to touch, itches and the condition deteriorates when the sun worsens.
  • for newborns, infants and children under the age of 12.
  • during pregnancy.

dosage

• Always apply the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the medicine is used two to three times a week - but by no means on consecutive days

 

• Duration of the application
  • The therapy duration is usually 3 to 4 weeks.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • Symptoms of an overdose are ears, ears with deafness, nosebleeds, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity and dryness of the mucous membranes. If such symptoms occur, end the treatment immediately and notify your doctor.
  • If you or someone else accidentally swallow the preparation (usually only small quantities due to the poor taste), please contact your doctor or the closest hospital immediately.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Next time, do not apply the double dose. Continue the treatment as usual.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • Discuss the further procedure with your doctor because the success of the treatment is at risk.

 

• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

Taking

• Psorimed is a solution to use on the skin.
• Do not moisturize your scalp before use.
• Spread the medicine thinly on the affected areas of the scalp by pulling the applicator down over these areas with the opening. 8 - 10 ml (0.8 - 1.0 g salicylic acid) are required for the entire hairy scalp area.
• Let the preparation work on the scalp for 10 to 30 minutes.
• Then rinse the solution thoroughly with warm water from the hair and from the treated skin areas. Place your head on the neck and close your eyes so that the solution does not get in the eye.
• Then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Patient information

• Special care in the application is required
  • because contact with eyes, nose, mucous membranes and healthy skin should be avoided.
  • because you should not use the daily maximum dose for adults of 2 g salicylic acid (corresponds to 20 ml per day) for more than a week.
  • since the drug should not be applied on consecutive days.
  • because the medicine is only intended for external use on the scalp. If you accidentally get the preparation in your eyes, rinse it out with plenty of cold tap water. If irritation symptoms show upn, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
  • if you are older.
  • Application in children
    • In children, the drug may only be used after the age of 12.
  • Older people
    • In this case, you should exercise special caution, as salicylic acid can affect your entire body. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • The preparation does not affect its ability to carry a vehicle or operate machines.

Pregnancy

• The medicine must not be used during pregnancy.
• The preparation can be used during breastfeeding, but it must not be applied in the chest area.
