Less serious illnesses such as a cold or a flu infection are positively influenced. In addition, he accelerates blood clotting, keeps some toxic heavy metals at bay and enables the organism to absorb more iron from the intestine. In addition, the active ingredient can act as a buffer and thus contributes to the fact that a medicine becomes more stomach.

Patient information

  • Warnings and Precautions:
    • Injection of high doses can lead to acute kidney failure due to kidney stones by precipitation calcium oxalate crystals in the kidney. This has already been observed in doses of 1.5 - 2.5 g. Patients with an existing restriction of kidney function (renal failure) are particularly at risk for this.
    • Adequate fluid intake (approx. 1½ to 2 l per day) should be taken into account.
    • In patients with recurring kidney stone formation, the daily vitamin C dose should not exceed 100 to 200 mg. Patients with high -grade or terminal renal failure (dialysis patients) should not receive more than 50 to 100 mg every day.
    • In patients with erythrocytic glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (hereditary disturbance of the metabolism of the red blood cells), with high doses of vitamin C (more than 4 g daily), e.g. T. heavy hemolysen (resolution of red blood cells) observed. Exceeding the dosage of 100 - 500 mg ascorbic acid daily must therefore be avoided.
    • In patients with known breathing difficulties (especially by restricting breathing function, such as asthma, chronic bronchitis or smoking cough), treatment with high doses (from 7.5 g) can occur in individual cases. It is therefore recommended to start treatment with lower doses in these patients.
    • This preparation must not be mixed with drugs, the effect of which is reduced by chemical reduction.
    • Children
      • In children under the age of 12, an IV - 7 mg ascorbic acid/kg kg per day should not be exceeded in children under the age of 12.
      • As part of the therapy of methemoglobinemia in childhood, a lot of 100 mg ascorbic acid/kg kg should not be exceeded every day.
    • Older people
      • Adequate fluid intake (approx. 1½ to 2 l per day) should be taken into account.
    • Special note for diabetics
      • After parenteral administration of ascorbic acid, the detection reaction of glucose is disturbed in the blood.
    • Hints
      • According to the gift of grammar, the ascorbic acid concentration in the urine can rise to such a way that the measurement of various clinical-chemical parameters (glucose, uric acid, creatinine, inorganic phosphate) is disturbed and falsified.

  • Wateriness and operating machines
    • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

  • Pregnancy
    • In pregnancy, a lot of 100 to 500 mg of ascorbic acid should not be exceeded every day.

Hints

Read the package supplement and ask your doctor or pharmacist for risks and side effects.
