• The preparation is a medicine with digestive enzymes.
• It is used to replace digestive enzymes for digestive disorders (maldigration) as a result of insufficient or lack of function of the pancreas (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to pancreas powder from the pig or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • The dosage depends on the extent of the digestive weakness. The directional dose is 1 - 2 hard capsules per meal (corresponding to 20,000 - 40,000 Lipase units). The required dose can be alie above it.
  • Especially in patients who receive very high doses in order to check the digestive weakness sufficiently, the dose, taking into account the amount and composition of meals, should not exceed the enzyme dose necessary for adequate fat digestion. An increase in the dose should only be carried out under medical control and aimed at improving the disease signs (e.g. fat chair, abdominal pain). A daily enzyme dose of 15,000 - 20,000 units Lipase per kg body weight should not be exceeded.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the application is not limited and depends on the clinical picture.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Overdoses have not yet become known.

 

• If you have taken too little or forgot an intake
  • Do not take twice the amount the next time you take, but continue intake as described in the dosage instructions.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• Take in the capsules with sufficient fluid (about 1 glass of water) during every meal.
• Patients who cannot swallow the entire capsule can open them by pulling apart and only swallow the gastric -resistant micro tablets.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • You should only take the medicine with acute pancreatitis (pancreatitis) and an acute thrust of chronic pancreatitis during the main disease phase after consultation with your doctor.
  • In the subscription phase of the pancreatitis during a corresponding diet, the intake of the pancreatic function is sometimes sensible.
  • What else do you need to look out for?
    • Colon narrowing (intestinal obstructions) are known complications in patients with cystic fibrosis. In the case of intestinal obstruction-like signs, the possibility of intestinal narrowing (strictures) should therefore be considered.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • The medicine has no or a negligible influence on the roadworthiness and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• You can take the medicine during pregnancy and lactation after consulting your doctor.
• Fertile/childhood ability
  • There are no studies on the influence of pancreatin on the ability to fertilize/child ability.
