Field of use

• This medicine is a calcium vitamin D₃preparation.
• It is taken
  • in the case of proven calcium and vitamin D₃-Lang,
  • for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to calcium, colecalciferol (vitamin D₃) or one of the other components of the drug,
  • with increased calcium content of the blood (hypercalcemia),
  • in the case of increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciurie),
  • for kidney limestone (nephrolithiasis),
  • in the case of tissue calcification of the kidney (nephrocalcinosis),
  • with limited kidney function (renal failure),
  • in the case of overactive ancillary thyroid gland, which is usually based on an ancillary thyroid adenoma with an increased parathormone release (primary hyperparathyroidism),
  • if vitamin D levels (hypervitaminosis d), vitamin D),
  • with multiplem bone marrow tumor (myeloma),
  • for daughter tumors in the bone (bone metastases),
  • when the limbs (immobilization) is immobilized.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Adults take 1 effervescent tablet twice a day (in the morning and evening 1 effervescent tablet, corresponding to 1,200 mg calcium and 800 I. E. Vitamin D3).

 

• Duration of treatment
  • The intake should take place in the long term. Talk to your doctor how long you should take the medicine.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • Overdosing can lead to nausea, vomiting, a pathological feeling of thirst, increased urine formation or constipation.
  • If you suspect overdose, please inform your doctor immediately. This may take the necessary measures.
  • Hold the package of the drug so that the doctor can find out about the active ingredient.

 

• If you forgot to take the drug
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake. Take the preparation in the usual dosage the next day as usual.

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • If you interrupt the treatment or end the intake prematurely, you must expect that the desired effect does not occur or the symptoms reinforce. Therefore, please consult your doctor if you want to end or interrupt the treatment.

 

• If you have any further questions about taking the drug, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The effervescent tablet is in a glass of water (approx. 200 ml) dissolved and drunk immediately.
• You can take the medicine for eating or between meals.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
  • During a long-term treatment with the preparation, your doctor must check the calcium level in the blood and monitor the kidney function by measuring the serum creatinine value. Surveillance is particularly important in older patients and in patients who also receive certain medicines that increase cardiac strength (herbalized glycosides) or diuretic medicines (diuretics). This also applies to patients with a pronounced tendency to form stone formation. If a calcium level is too high in the blood (hypercalcemia) or signs of kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the intake ended.
  • If you suffer from a kidney dysfunction, you may only take vitamin D carefully and with monitoring the calcium and phosphate levels. In the case of severe kidney dysfunction, vitamin D in the form of Colecalciferol is not normally metabolized. Your doctor should therefore prescribe another vitamin D preparation.
  • Additional intake of other medicines containing calcium may only be carried out under close medical control, including weekly review of calcium levels in the blood and urine.
  • If other vitamin D preparations are prescribed for you, your doctor should take the amount of 400 I. E. per effervescent tablet into account.
  • The medicine should only be taken with caution from patients suffering from sarcoidosis, since the risk of increased conversion of vitamin D into its active form insists. In these patients, calcium levels in the blood and urine should be monitored by the doctor.
  • Certain tumors such as lung cancer (bronchial carcinoma), breast cancer (breast cancer), kidney cancer (hypernephrom) and blood cancer (plasma cytoma) can cause increased calcium level in the blood. These patients should take the preparation with caution. Calcium levels in the blood and urine should be monitored by the doctor.
  • Children
    • The medicine is not intended for use in children.
• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There is no data on the influence of this drug on the traffic or operating machines. However, an influence is unlikely.

 

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • This medicine can be taken during pregnancy if there is a calcium and vitamin D deficiency.
  • Daily intake of 500 I.E. vitamin D should not be exceeded during pregnancy. Therefore, no more than 1 effervescent tablet (400 I. E. Vitamin D) may be taken.
  • So far, no risks in the specified dose area are known.
  • Long-lasting overdoses of vitamin D must be prevented during pregnancy, since the resulting hypercalcemia (increased calcium concentration in the blood) can lead to physical and intellectual disabilities as well as congenital heart and eye diseases of the child.
  • Vitamin D and its metabolic products pass into breast milk. An overdose in the infant generated in this way has not been observed. Calcium passes into breast milk in small quantities without having a adverse effect on the child.
  • During pregnancy, the daily dose should 1,500 mg of calcium and 600 I. E. vitamin D₃ do not exceed. Therefore, only one effervescent tablet (400 I. E. Vitamin D) may be taken daily.
  • In pregnancy, an overdose must be avoided because hypercalcaemia in the child for a long time to physical and mental developmental disorders, supravalvular aortic stenosis and non -inflammatory Ncan lead to the diseases. However, there are also several case reports, which show that mothers suffered from reduced or lack of production of parathormone after taking very high vitamin doses. There is no evidence that vitamin D in therapeutic doses in humans act teratogenic.
  • If a calcium and vitamin D deficiency occurs during pregnancy, the medicine can be applied.
• Breastfeeding
  • The medicine can be taken during breastfeeding. Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk. This must be taken into account if the child receives additional gifts of vitamin D.

Miscellaneous

- During a long-term application, the blood and urine calcium levels and kidney function should be checked.
- The amount of vitamin D per dosage form should be taken into account when using further vitamin D preparations.
- Since the drug already contains vitamin D, an additional use of vitamin D (or vitamin D derivatives) or calcium may only be carried out under strict medical control. In this case, a weekly review of the blood and urine calcium levels must be carried out.
