Field of use

• Nystatin Holsten Suspension with 100,000 I.E. Nystatin for use in the oral cavity and to take it.
• With the Nystatin Holsten Suspension, the esophagus and the gastrointestinal tract are also treated, since the suspension from the oral cavity to the intestine works.
• For the topical treatment of infections of the oral cavity (oral building), the oesophagus (esophagus) and the gastrointestinal tract (intestinal corridor) caused by yeast (especially Candida Albicans and other Candida species).

Mode of action

How does oral soor arise?
A mushroom spreads where it has space. There are usually no in the oral mucosa of adults or older children: Many other healthy germs are already settling here - healthy because they are useful and important. Fortunately, there is usually no more space for a mushroom. The oral mucosa of infants, on the other hand, is still very sparsely populated, especially in the first months of life. In combination with her not yet very powerful immune system, she makes this particularly susceptible to fungal diseases (mycoses), mostly about the yeast mushroom candida albicans. For example, such a mushroom gets into the oral mucosa via hands, bottle vacuum cleaners, pacifiers or toys, it may well be that it spreads here. A fungal infection in the mouth (oral building) can arise.

This happens less frequently in older children. If you get oral, there are special reasons: this can be due to a weakened immune system that can occur, for example, by taking cortisone for longer. Antibiotics can also lead to oral thrust because they attack the healthy germs on the oral mucosa.


How can you recognize oral thrust?

•often on the inside of the cheeks and lips, on the palate or under the tongue
•Burning feeling in the mouth, difficulty swallowing, pain when eating and drinking
•For babies, oral thrust can be so uncomfortable that they no longer want to drink

Contradictions

  • Baby:

    • Darmsoor: 1 - 2 ml of suspension 4 times a day; The maximum dose is therefore 8 ml of suspension per day.
  • Adults and children:
    • Mundsour: 4 - 6 times a day 1 ml suspension; The maximum dose is therefore 6 ml of suspension per day.

• Duration of the application.

  • In the case of DarmSor, the usual treatment duration is 2 weeks. However, the medicine should be taken beyond the subscription of the symptoms for at least 2 days.
  • Do not take the preparation without a medical or dental advice for more than 28 days.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Symptoms of symptoms are hardly to be expected, since the active ingredient nystatin contained in the preparation only merges into the bloodstream in oral use. Possible consequences of an overdose are trimming, vomiting and diarrhea. If you suspect an overdose, you will definitely notify a doctor!

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.
  • Rather, you should continue with the treatment at the given times and in the prescribed or specified dosage. However, the duration of the treatment should be extended by the interruption period after consultation with your doctor.

• If you cancel the intake
  • To achieve the desired success of the therapy, please stick to the duration of treatment recommended above or to the medically prescribed application regulation. The treatment should not be interrupted or ended prematurely without consulting the doctor.

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• For use in the oral cavity and to take.
• At oral thrush, the suspension is dripped into the mouth after meals. It should be moved in the mouth for as long as possible before it is swallowed. This increases the time of exposure. In infants, a cotton swab may ensure that the entire surface of the oral mucosa is wetted. It is advisable to wipe off the soor coverings beforehand, e.g. with a swab.
• In the case of DarmSOoor, the suspension is taken before meals.
• The bottle with the suspension must be shaken hard before use.

    • Due to the high osmolarity of Nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised.

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Nystatin, the active ingredient of the preparation, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dose after oral gift over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes. The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The medicine can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
