Duration of the application?
The duration of use depends on the type of complaints and/or the course of the disease. It should therefore be determined in consultation with your doctor.
In the case of proven vitamin B12 resorption disorder, the drug is usually used for life.

Overdose?
So far, no overdose symptoms are known. If in doubt, contact your doctor.

In general, pay attention to a conscientious dosage especially in infants, toddlers and older people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautionary measures.

A dosage prescribed by the doctor may differ from the information on the package insert. Since the doctor coordinates you individually, you should therefore apply the medicine according to his instructions.

Treatment start:
All ages 1 Ampoule 2 times a week regardless of the time of day
Follow-up treatment for proven vitamin B12 resorption disorder in the intestine: Medicines are available with a more suitable active ingredient content.

Application areas

A vitamin B12 deficiency can occur, for example, in the event of deficiency and malnutrition (e.g. through strictly vegetarian food), resonment disorders and congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders.
- Vitamin B12 deficiency, with blood formation disorders and anemia and/or disorders of the nervous system, such as spinal cord damage

Mode of action

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient is a preliminary stage of the vitamin B12 and is converted into the body. Vitamin B12 is involved in blood formation in the body.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: According to current knowledge, the drug has no harmful effects on the development of your child or birth.
- Still -time: According to current knowledge, there is no evidence that the medicine must not be applied during breastfeeding.

If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.

Field of use

  • The preparation is a vitamin B12preparation. Cyanocobalamin belongs to the group of fabrics that togetherfaithful as "vitamin B12.
  • Field of use:
    • Vitamin B12deficiency, which cannot be remedied in terms of diet.
    • Vitamin B12deficiency can comment in the following clinical pictures:
      • Hyperchrom macocytic megaloblast anemia (Perniciosa, Biermer-Anemia, Addison-Anemia; these are ripening disorder of the red blood cells)
      • Funicular spinal disease [Rückenmarkschädigung]
    • A laboratory diagnostically secured vitamin B12deficiency can occur with:
      • Years of deficiency and malnutrition (e.g. through strictly vegetarian food).
      • Malabsorption (insufficient absorption of vitamin B12 in the intestine),
        • insufficient production of intrinsic factor (a protein that is formed in the gastric mucosa and required to absorb vitamin B12 ),
        • Diseases in the end section of the ileum (part of the small intestine), e.g. B. Sprue,
        • Fish bandwurmfall or
        • Blind loop syndrome (change in the intestinal course after stomach operation).
      • Congenital vitamin B12transport disorders.

Contradictions

  • The medicine must not be used,
    • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against cyanocobalamin or one of the other components of the preparation.

dosage

  • Always apply the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • At the beginning of the treatment, 1 ml (1 ampoule) is administered once or twice a week in the first two weeks after diagnosis, according to 1000 - 2000 µg cyanocobalamine per week.
    • In the case of proven vitamin B12admission disorder in the intestine, 100 µg cyanocobalamine are then administered once a month.

 

  • Duration of the application:
    • The medicine is intended for longer use.
    • Please ask your doctor.

 

  • When a larger amount was used
    • Poisoning or overdose symptoms are not known.

 

  • When the application was forgotten
    • The double dose should not be applied if the previous application has been forgotten.

 

  • If you cancel the application
    • If the treatment is interrupted, you endanger the success of the treatment! If you experience unpleasant side effects, please talk to your doctor about further treatment.

Taking

  • The drug is usually administered intramuscularly (injected into a muscle). However, it can also slowly be intravenous or subcutaneous (injected into a vein or under the skin).

    • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using all medicines.
  • The recommended daily vitamin B12intake during pregnancy and lactation is 4 µg. According to the previous experience, higher applications have no adverse effects on the unborn child. Vitamin B12 is excreted in breast milk.
