Field of use

• The medicine is a gastrointestinal agent and is used for digestive weakness with flatulence.
  • Application areas
    • To replace digestive enzymes for digestive disorders (maldigration) with increased gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal duct (meteorism and flatulence) as a result of insufficient or lack of function of the pancreas (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are hypersensitive to Simeticon and Pancreatin from Swine Pankreas or one of the other components of the medicine.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • Treatment with the medicine is aimed at the goal of achieving or maintaining a normal body weight and normalizing the frequency of bowel movements and quality.
    • In any case, the dosage depends on the severity of the digestive weakness of the pancreas. As a general directional dose, a lipase content per meal of 20,000-40,000 pH units is recommended. Unless otherwise prescribed, the dose is therefore 1 to 2 tablets of the medicine per meal (corresponding to 15,000-30,000 pH units per meal).
    • The required dose can also be significantly higher. An increase in the dose should only be carried out under medical control and aimed at improving the disease signs (e.g. fat chair, abdominal pain). A daily enzyme dose of 15,000-20,000 pH units Lipase per kilogram of body weight should not be exceeded.
    • Due to the content of Simeticon, a dose of 3 times 2 tablets should not be exceeded by the medicine, with a higher need for pancreatic enzymes, preparations are available without Simeticon.
    • Especially in patients with cystic fibrosis, the dose should not exceed the enzyme dose necessary for an appropriate fat absence, taking into account the amount and composition of meals.

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the application depends on the course of the disease and is determined by your doctor. The duration of the application is not limited.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

• If you have taken a larger amount of the medicine than you should
  • Overdoses with the medicine are not known. If there have been complaints in the event of an overdose, inform your doctor. This will then also be used via treating treatmentdecide NGS measures.

• If you forgot to take the medicine
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake. Please continue with the therapy, as recommended, without independently increase the dose! In case of doubt, please ask your doctor for advice!

• The tablets are taken with plenty of liquid for meals.

• Particular caution when taking the medicine is required:
  • Colon clipping (intestinal obstruction) is a known complication in patients with cystic fibrosis, a congenital metabolic disorder. In the presence of intestinal obstruction -like signs, the possibility of intestinal narrowing should also be considered.
  • The medicine contains active enzymes that are released into the oral cavity, e.g. B. chewing, can lead to mucosal damage there. It is therefore important to make sure to swallow the medicine un -chewing.
  • The medicine should not be used at
