Application:
A substantive substitute for symptomatic therapy (treatment of the side effects of the disease) of the "dry eye" including keratoconjunctivitis sicca (clinical picture of the dry eye).

This moisturizing eye gel forms a film on the horn and conjunctiva that can replace the tear fluid. This effect is caused by the active ingredient carbomer and the further component polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). You need one drop per eye and per application.

Field of use

  • The preparation is an eye gel that is used for the symptomatic therapy of the dry eye.
  • It is used as a replacement for the natural tear fluid when the surface of the eye is insufficiently moistened or the tear film is unstable.

Mode of action

The Liquigel UD 2.5 mg/g of eye gel (Package size: 30x0.5 g) forms a film on the horn and conjunctiva that can replace the tear fluid. This effect is caused by the active ingredient carbomer and the further component polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). You need one drop per eye and per application.

Contradictions

  • The preparation must not be used,
    • if you are allergic to Carbomer 974 P or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

Application recommendation of Liquigel UD 2.5 mg/g of eye gel (Package size: 30x0.5 g):

  • Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose of 1 drop, which you drop into the eye once as required.
  • Application in children and adolescents up to 18 years
    • The effectiveness and security of children and adolescents in the recommended dosage for adults is based on clinical experience. There is no data from clinical studies.

  • Duration of the application
    • The preparation is suitable for long -term therapy and should be used as long as the symptoms require.
    • If, during treatment with the medicine, irritation, pain, redness or changes in eyesight occur or you have the impression that your condition deteriorates, you should end the treatment and speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

  • If you have used a larger amount than you should
    • If you have accidentally applied too many drops on the eye, it is unlikely that this will lead to unwanted side effects. Rinse out your eye with clear water if you have used too many drops on the eye. Perform the next application at the intended time.

  • If you have forgotten the application
    • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application. If it is already time for the next dose, apply the next dose as usual and continue the treatment on schedule.

  • If you cancel the application
    • You should not end the treatment or reduce the amount you have used until your doctor advises you, otherwise their symptoms could worsen.
    • The preparation should be used according to your doctor's instruction.

  • If you have any further questions about the application of this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

  • The medicine is used on the eye.
  • Do not use the bottle if the protective seal at the closure is damaged before use.
  • Wash your hands before opening the bottle. Tilt your head slightly back and see the ceiling.
    • 1. Carefully pull the lower eyelid down until a small bag forms.
    • 2. Turn the bottle over and press the bottle until a drop falls into the eye to be treated.
    • 3. Let go of the lower eyelid and blink a few times.
  • Repeat step 1 to 3 on the other eye if this must also be treated. If a drop does not get into the eye, try again.
  • Do not touch the eye or other surfaces with the drip tip to avoid contamination of the preparation.
  • Close the bottle again after each application and put it back into the karton.
  • So that the preparation can be dripped better the next time you use it, you should keep the bottle on your head.

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Particular caution is required if you wear contact lenses. Contact lenses must be removed before each application and may be used again after 30 minutes at the earliest.
    • Children and adolescents up to 18 years

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • Immediately after dropping, the preparation can cause short -term veiling.
    • If you are affected, you can only operate vehicles and machines if you can see clearly again.

Pregnancy

  • There is no experience about the application during pregnancy and lactation.
  • The preparation should only be used if the doctor has carried out careful benefit-risk analysis.

Hints

- Benzalkonium chloride can lead to the discoloration of soft contact lenses.
- Hard contact lenses should be removed before dropping and only used again after 15 minutes.
- Immediately after dropping, veiling can occur and thus the ability to actively participate in road traffic or to operate machines are impaired.
