Field of use

• The preparation is a laxative; Liver and intestinal therapy
• The medicine is used

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against lactulosis or one of the other components of the preparation
  • if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting and fever, this can be signs of a serious disease, such as intestinal obstruction (ileus) or inflammation in the gastrointestinal area. With such symptoms, you should immediately seek medical advice.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Also keep in mind that after taking the specified doses of the preparation of a clear, often from patient to patient, it takes different times until the desired effect shows. The laxative effect of the drug can occur after only 2 to 10 hours, but it can also take 1 to 2 days until the first bowel movement, especially if there is still insufficient dosage.
• The preparation must be dosed differently depending on the area of application. The doses specified here can only serve the orientation and, if necessary, have to be changed in order to achieve the desired effect.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • With constipation
    • Adult
      • 5 - 10 g 1 to 2 times a day (corresponding to 7.5 - 15 ml)
    • Children
      • 1 to 2 times a day 3 - 6 g (corresponding to 4.5 - 9 ml)
    • Especially at the beginning of the treatment of constipation, larger doses of the drug are often required. In general, this slightly higher initial dose can be reduced after 3 - 4 days.
  • In postage in postage, i.e. if the brain function is impaired in the context of a liver disease
    • Adult
      • At the beginning of the treatment of a postage of postage, adults should take 5 - 10 g (corresponding to 7.5 - 15 ml) 3 to 4 times a day.

• Duration of the application

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • If the medicine has been taken in too large quantities, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and losses on water and electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium) can occur, which may have to be compensated for by drug therapy.
  • Inform your doctor if such symptoms arise during an overdose. This will then also decide on any treatment measures to be introduced.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Even if the recommended dose is taken correctly, it can take some time for the desired effect.
  • If you have taken too little, the time can extend until the occurrence of action; The success of the treatment could then fail to fail.
  • Once you have forgotten to take a dose of the drug, please continue with the therapy as recommended without increasing the dose independently! In case of doubt, please ask your doctor for advice!

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • If you interrupt the treatment with the preparation or end the intake prematurely, you must expect that the desired effect does not occur or the clinical picture deteriorates again. Therefore, please consult your doctor if you want to end or interrupt the treatment.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor and pharmacist.

Taking

• Please measure the dose required for you. Then this amount of syrup with water or with warm drinks, e.g. Coffee or tea, mixed or in yoghurt, muesli or porridge mixed and taken together with these foods.
• The intake can take place independently of the meals. If a one -time dose is sufficient to successfully treat constipation, taking it has proven to be particularly compatible in the morning after breakfast.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking the drug is required
  • In the event of faults in the water and electrolyte balance (salt loss), the preparation should not be taken.
  • If you have been constipated for a long time, you should have your doctor advised and examined before the start of therapy with the medicine, because chronic disorders or impairments of bowel movements can be a sign of a more serious illness!
• Children
  • Since inherited fructose intolerance may not have been recognized in infants and toddlers, they should only receive the preparation after consultation with a doctor.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • The medicine has no adverse effects on perception, judgment and reaction.

Pregnancy

• Harmful effects of lactulose when taking it during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not known. Lactulosis can also be taken during pregnancy and lactation.

- The laxative effect can occur after 2-10 hours, if there are insufficient quantities, 24-48 hours can pass by the 1st stool.
- When taking the drug should be taken into account for a high -fiber diet, as this supports the laxative effect. Raw food salads and whole grain products are particularly suitable. The Voutput larger amounts of fresh yogurt promotes the important colonization of the colon with bifidus bacteria. Adequate fluid intake (at least 2 liters daily) must be paid.
- In diabetics, the synthesis -related content of lactulose must be taken into account in digestible carbohydrates (100 ml contain max. 17g = 1.4 be).
