  • How much is to be taken
    • For patients with cystic fibrosis
      • Children:
        • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for infants is a measuring spoon filling (100 mg) gastric -resistant granules (corresponding to 5000 lipase units) at any meal.

        • The weight-based enzyme dose should begin in adolescents and adults with 500 lipase units per kilogram of body weight per meal.
      • For all ages:
        • Your daily total dose should not exceed 2,500 lipase units per meal per kilogram per meal, or 10,000 lipase units per kilogram of body weight per day or 4,000 lipase units per gram of fat intake.
    • For patients with other pancreas
      • Young people and adults:
        • The usual dose for a meal is between 25,000 and 80,000 lipase units (corresponding to 5 to 16 measuring spoons). The usual dose for a snack is half of the dose for a meal.

  • If you have taken or administered a larger amount than you should
    • If you have taken or administered a larger amount than you should, a lot of water should be drunk. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Very high doses of pancreatic powder sometimes caused an increase in uric acid in blood (hyperuricaemia) and urine (hyperuricosuria).
