Field of use

• The medicine is an oral iron preparation in combination with folic acid against iron and folic acid deficiency.
• It is used to treat a combined iron and folic acid deficiency, especially during pregnancy and lactation as well as in the event of misconception and malnutrition.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if they are hypersensitive (allergic) against the active ingredients or one of the other components of the drug.
  • if you have a narrowing of the esophagus.
  • if you suffer from hereditary iron storage disease (hemochromatosis).
  • if you suffer from iron overload (chronic hemolysen, thalassemia, other hemoglobinopathies).
  • if you suffer from iron recycling disorders (e.g. sideroachrestic anemia, lead anemia).
  • if you receive repeated or chronic blood transfusions.
  • if you have a megaloblastary anemia as a result of an isolated vitamin B12 deficiency.
  • of children under the age of 6.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction in this package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is
  • in adults and children from 6 years (with at least 20 kg body weight): 1 hard capsule daily.
  • with pronounced iron deficiency in adults and adolescents from 15 years or 50 kg body weight in the initial phase: 2 to 3 hard capsules daily that can be taken over the day.
  • A daily intake of 5 mg Fe²⁺/KG body weight should not be exceeded.
• Older patients
  • There is no clinical data that a dose adjustment is required in older patients.
• Patients with kidney or liver dysfunction
  • There is no clinical data that requires dose adjustment in patients with kidney or liver dysfunction.
• Children and adolescents
  • The drug must not be used in children under the age of 6 (with a body weight of less than 20 kg).

• Duration of the application
  • The doctor determines the duration of the application.
  • Depending on the severity of the anemia and the individual circumstances - it can take between 3 to 6 months - depending on the severity of the anemia.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • If you have taken the medicine in too large quantities, you should inform a doctor immediately.

• If you forgot to take the drug

Taking

• Please take the medicine in the unscrewed one with enough water (preferably a glass).
• The intake should be done soberly in the morning (approx. 1 hour before breakfast) or at a sufficient distance of about 2 hours before or after a meal.
• Notice
  • If there are any problems when swallowing or swallowing the capsule, the contents of the capsule can also be taken without the capsule shell.
