Instructions for use for EMLA 25 mg/g + 25 mg/g cream, 30 g

Ingredients: cream with 25 mg/g lidocaine and 25 mg/g prilocaine. 

USE:
EMLA cream enables easy and uncomplicated application to the areas to be treated. It serves the local anesthesia of skin and mucous membranes to reduce the sensation of pain. Emla cream is dermatologically tested.

Emla cream stuns the skin locally and thus reduces the sensation of pain on the treated skin area. Suitable areas of application include, for example, skin anesthesia as a preparation before vaccination or surface anesthesia before tattooing on a larger skin area.
The dosage for adults and adolescents over 12 years is 2 g cream for smaller interventions and a maximum of 60 g for larger skin areas.
Applying the cream is light and uncomplicated.
EMLA products are dermatologically tested and correspond to the highest quality.

APPLICATION:
The exposure time of the EMLA cream is 1-2 hours. The effect then lasts at least 2 hours. Please note the instructions of the package insert.

Field of use

EMLA 25 mg/g + 25 mg/g of cream (pack size: 30 g) locally stunned the skin and thus reduces the pain sensation on the treated skin area.

Suitable areas of application include, for example, skin anesthesia as a preparation before vaccination or surface anesthesia before tattooing on a larger skin area.

EMLA 25 mg/g + 25 mg/g cream (pack size: 30 g) is an anesthetic ointment and enables easy and uncomplicated application to the areas to be treated. It serves the local anesthesia of skin and mucous membranes to reduce the sensation of pain. Emla cream is dermatologically tested.

Contradictions

  • The medicine must not be used,
    • if you are allergic to lidocaine or prilocaine, other similar local anesthetics or against one of the other components of this drug.

Taking

  • If you apply the cream, it is important that you follow the following instructions exactly:
    • 1. Press out a cream pile from the tube at the point where it is needed (for example where the needle stitch should take place). Do not massage the cream.
    • 2. Pull off the paper layer from the middle section of the pavement on the non -adhesive side (there is a paper frame left).
    • 3. Pull the coating on the adhesive side of the pavement.
    • 4. Carefully place the pavement over the cream pitch. Do not distribute the cream under the pavement.
    • 5. Remove the back of paper. Carefully press the corners of the pavement. Then leave it for at least 60 minutes.
    • 6. Your doctor or medical specialist staff will remove the pavement and remove the cream right before you carry out the medical intervention (e.g. right in front of the needle stitch).

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or the medical staff before using the cream,
      • if you ODEr Your child have a rare congenital disease, called "glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenic defect", which affects the blood.
      • if you or your child have a problem with the blood concentration of the blood pigment methemoglobin, called "methemoglobinemia.
      • With the exception of leg ulcers, do not apply the cream to surfaces with rash, cuts, skin abrasions or other open wounds. If one of these problems occurs, speak to your doctor, pharmacist or medical staff before using the cream.
      • if you or your child have itchy skin disease, called "atopic dermatitis", a shorter exposure time can be sufficient. An exposure period for more than 30 minutes can lead to an increased occurrence of local vascular reactions.
      • if you take special medicines against cardiac arrhythmias (antiarrhythmica in class III, like Amiodaron). In this case, the doctor will observe your heart function.
    • Due to the possibly increased absorption through the freshly shaved skin, it is important to adhere to the recommended dosage, skin area and time in effect.
    • Avoid getting the cream in the eye because this can cause irritation. If the cream accidentally gets into your eye, you should rinse it well with lukewarm water or saline (sodium chloride). Make sure that nothing comes into your eye until the feeling has returned.
    • The preparation should not be applied to a damaged eardrum.
    • If you apply the cream before vaccinations with living vaccines (e.g. tuberculosis vaccinations), you should see your doctor or medical staff again in the given period to check the intelligence result.
    • Children and adolescents
      • In infants/newborns younger than 3 months after applying the cream, a temporary, clinically non -significant increase in the concentration of the blood pigeer in the blood is observed in the blood (methemoglobinemia ").
      • The effectiveness of the cream in blood sampling on the heel of newborns or with regard to the guarantee of sufficient analgesia during a circum zision could not be confirmed in clinical studies.
      • Due to inadequate data for active ingredients, the cream should not be applied to genital skin (e.g. penis) and the genital mucosa (e.g. in the vagina).
      • The preparation should not be used younger than 12 months, which are treated at the same time as other drugs that affect the blood concentration of the blood pigment methemoglobin ("Methemoglobinemia") (e.g. sulfonamide).
      • The cream should not be used in premature babies.

 

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • The drug has no or an excessive influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines if it is used in the recommended doses.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
  • Pregnancy
    • It is unlikely that the occasional use of the cream during pregnancy will have a negative impact on the unborn.
  • Breastfeeding
    • The active ingredients of the drug (lidocaine and prilocaine) pass into breast milk. However, the amount is so low that there is generally no risk for the child.
  • Fertile/childhood ability
    • Animal studies showed no impairment of male or female fertility or child ability.
